Great game. I would definitely recommend this classic!
Noir, one-liners, and a whole lot of bullet time. Modern hardware patching aside, MP1 holds up pretty well. Gunplay is simple yet satisfying with a decently sized loadout, while the graphic novel presentation and poetic monologuing kept me constantly amused despite the overall straightforward story. Rating: 3.5/5. (Those nightmare sections haunted me as kid.)

Amazing game which aged really well. Pretty linear, however that's the aspect that made the game so interesting and well written. It's a great break from newly made games with tasks written and points on a map, where do don't use your brain anymore. I highly encourage you to try this and see how the games were made back in the day. You'll need mods to play this however, the only one you basically need is the MP1-Fixpack v1.2025.1 (I had mine without textures). It fixes audio, framerate cap, GPU JPEG errors and more (scroll down to Download and install section) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1633394421 The fact that Steam allows such re-releases is abysmal to me. Game does not work itself on raw settings, it's a ripoff and it's working only due to modders (same as Return to Castle Wolfenstein).
Probably the best game Remedy made, except of maybe Max Payne 2. You'll probably need to install a fan patch to get it to work properly.
