Delightful.
The gameplay is not overly complicated, but it conveys the ideas well. Just... thank you. Fantastic game. Fantastic lens into how grief works and can be processed. These are lessons we'll take with us forever. I don't want to spoil the game or plot, I think a lot of it comes from the quiet and slow going through the motions and the days along with Alu. It's so incredibly well done. The characters, the choices, the little moments throughout. I love this so much. Thank you for teaching us so much and sharing all of this.
sometimes i be playing this game and then realise im taking better care of alo than i am of myself. so i go eat food or make some tea or whatever. criminally underrated beautiful game, please play it, it's about loss and grief and getting through the day and seeing beauty in the little things !!
I'm very glad that I found this game! The moment it flashed on my screen what the story contained, I told myself "Aaah I relate to this game so much." Every word here hits me and whenever it does, I will pause the game and savor it. Especially, Alo's Poetry. I also love how Alo, Kiah and Zuari uses the phrase "Promise to try!" LIKEEE huhuhu I don't know if it's just me, but It makes me teary-eyed whenever they say it. I love all the characters, story of the game and the Pixel art style. I love everything! What a masterpiece. <333 10000/10
im played a lot of games but this one is only skip the messages. it chores and messages nothing more. everyday the same tasks and no plot no nothing. you are only skipping messages and phonescalls. its like reading a book NO gameplay and this person is just weak. depression is not like that here. its very bad DONT BUY IT! i played the whole game for a review and i can say one of the worst games i ever played in my life. waste of money and time ! if you like reading a book then read a book instead of buying this game. play to the moon instead.
the game is about grief and getting through the day depending on what choices you make. half way through this game, i started reflecting on myself and how i take care of my needs, etc, compared to what alo does. i think it's pretty unavoidable, since you are the lens observing throughout the story, and i think a lot of people who got the game probably did the same. i recommend it if you like narrative visual novels with amazing pixel art.
This game was on my wishlist well before it released and was one I was really looking forward to long before my grandma died. She passed away exactly two months before the game released. It's been a wonderful companion through the grief process. Such a special and lovely game from the way it's written to the way it looks. I've been taking it slow but really loving it a lot.
This was the perfect game for me. A new favorite. I had almost no idea what to expect, but this game moved me like only the best pieces of art can. Alo is a young woman at the start of the pandemic. She has just moved to her own apartment and started a new job. Her Jaja has also recently passed away. You help Alo with self-care tasks and see her better cope with her grief the more effort you put in. However, the game does not present mental illness as a choice, but gives actionable steps to improve like doing small tasks and reaching out to your loved ones and friends. Alo is also a poet, though she has lost touch with her art in her grief. You go on a journey with Alo, learning about herself and her family as you unpack her Jaja's things. This game means the world to me. I am also a poet dealing with depression. It was almost too on the nose. But wow did it help me see both my mental illness and my art better. I am so grateful to the creators of Fishbowl for this game.
