Mata Hari is a subpar adventure game. The game is boring and while playing I found no redeeming qualities. At least it runs perfectly on Win 10 x64. Don't waste your time with this game. My rating 3/10 not recommended.

its an old game to be playing in 2023. but i enjoyed it nonetheless. what i like: -the theme, mata hari is a mysterious yet colorful character. Fascinating historical background and intriguing storyline. -game developers were able to weave historical events of that era into the story -visuals are good -play well on my rig on Windows 10. No issues. what i don't like -the traveling and avoid-the-spies minigame gets irrating after a while. Often, you need to travel to another city just to carry out one conversation. Duh... -the dancing mini game...some of them are impossible with a mouse -likewise for some of the avoid-the-spies mini-game...5 spies waiting to catch you ...seriously. Sure, you can skip the mini games at expense of gaining points. overall, its not a bad game, I will recommend it for history buffs who wants to know about Mata Hari.

In the past, point-and-click adventure games used to be my favorite genre. However, most of the games I played didn't have a translation to my mother's tongue, preventing me from fully enjoying the experience. Nevertheless, I have always appreciated the gratifying puzzle-solving mechanics. As time passed, there was a natural transition from 2D to 3D graphics, accompanied by other technological advancements. Consequently, many other titles were introduced, including this particular release. The game's story is intriguing as it is based on real events from the past. The question remains: Is it a good at all? The story follows a linear path but is divided into different segments or chapters, each separated by a significant leap in time. The graphics, considering the time of release, are satisfactory. The sound effects and music are also adequate, and I have no major complaints in that regard. The voice acting, although a bit cheesy, doesn't bother me personally. In terms of gameplay, the developers attempted to combine various mechanics. It's not solely a point-and-click adventure game; there are also puzzles to solve and even rhythm segments, exploring Mata Hari's background as a dancer. Additionally, there is a points system that may have some impact on the outcome. To be completely honest, the execution of the game falls short of greatness. I find it difficult to relate to any of the characters, and most of the time, I found myself yawning instead of genuinely enjoying the experience. If given the choice, I would provide a neutral assessment of this game. However, since that option is not available, I have to settle for a negative review.

Посредственный квест в момент выхода, не прошедший проверку временем. Глупый сюжет и никакие диалоги, слабая техническая часть. Душно и не особо интересно, головоломки в единичных экземплярах и не трудные. Декораций очень мало, не смотря аж на четыре города). Не стоит тратить на это время.

[h1]Overall = 4/10[/h1] An underwhelming espionage adventure across Europe which is based on a true story, but just isn’t that interesting or entertaining to play. The story is ok and uses a few famous names but isn’t that engaging, partially due to the constant back and forth nature and the long time span it covers. There’s very little actual game play, focusing on conversations and light puzzles and with very few hot spots in each scene, they become hard to detect. The backgrounds are beautifully drawn, which is a good thing as you’ll be seeing the same ones a lot, but the 3D polygonal characters are dated, move awkwardly and don’t fit with the scenery at all. You can also see where they’ve cut corners with basic animations missing, repeating characters and visiting the same scenes again and again. The mini-games add some variety but are poorly implemented, becoming boring quickly and the scoring system, which offers some replay value, has no bearing on the game. The voice acting is mostly good but the music tracks often play over themselves. Overall, it’s a short and functional adventure game with some charm, but little to really recommend.

not horrendous, but i found it pretty dull - life's too short (and my game library far too large) to waste time on dull games. just didn't grab me or hold my interest.

Decent point&click game with all its aspects in the groove of the genre from the era it comes from. Not exactly a fan of that interface though, expecially to handle dialogues.

I used to play adventure games and finally decided to finish this game. I did it and the experience was mixed. I loved the setting and the idea that you could change the outro depending on how well you finished the game. Only point I didn't like was the dancing mini game. It was one of the worst things I came across, especially the later dances. It would be much better if it was like a quicktime event, but instead you have to put your mouse inside the boxes on the four corners of the screen as the music notes are right in the boxes. It's really hard. In the end I couldn't do it and decided to skip it. I was lucky enough to succeed better in the first half of the dances. Apart from that I liked the story, though the game ends kind of abruptly. For a casual adventure game it's okay.

The art and the style of the game are just love <3
