I rather enjoyed the first game in this trilogy, which is why it hurts to say that the second was less than enjoyable, to the point I never finished playing through it. Where do I even begin? - Gunplay: Feels worse in 2 compared to 1. For some reason, they decided to swap from the fitting cooldown/recharge system to a bog-standard ammo collection system. Especially with enemies many enemies gaining a 3rd health bar in ME2, it makes gun combat feel far worse. - UI: They changed the color of the UI to a dark orange in ME2, which both looks worse and makes it harder to read the elements on-screen. Combined with the gutting of the minimap (either just a PNG or nonexistent, making traversal harder), and how slow the menus feel to go through, the UI here is a massive step back from the first entry. - RPG Mechanics: Heavily cut back, with far fewer options. They also heavily restricted class weapon options with little warning, so I lost access to the Sniper Rifle while playing the same class I did in ME1. - Exploration: Made far worse with adding fuel mechanics than disincentivize exploration, and the probe system that does that even further, especially when both cost money. The "streamlining" of explorable areas also hurts as well, with areas like the Citadel cut to a single office. While these elements wouldn't be too much on their own, all of them in combination ground out my enjoyment, until I stopped playing entirely. If these don't bother you and you just want to enjoy the story, go ahead, but just be warned.
"Emergency. Induction. Port." "That's a straw Tali."
Awesome games, one of the best storylines I've ever seen, compelling gameplay, well-written characters. All around, one of my favorite series ever.
This is my favorite franchise. I've played this series for years and I'm still finding new content.

One Of the best Trilogies I have ever played
It's Mass Effect. If you liked it in the past, you'll probably really enjoy this upgrade!
Got this for $5 because ♥♥♥♥ ea. other than that, its a good game. ME1 can be a lil bit clunky and weird since its an old game, but the story got me hooked. The paragon and renegade system can be funny at times, but otherwise a good addition.
