Do not buy this game! As none of the money given will go to the developers. Nacon is one of the worst publishers who love to put their studios into the grave with zero fu*** given for their developers and their works. This applies to titles published under Focus, from Faery through GreedFall.(Speaking of Spiders here) OLD VERSION : WIP

It feels like the game had less money behind it than Mars has water, but somehow that dryness only makes its harsh world feel more believable. Mars is barren, and the game's rough edges often feel like part of the landscape.
Mars: War Logs
Mars: War Logs is a likable enough AA RPG that somehow ends up being more enjoyable than you’d expect. It’s rough in a lot of ways: the combat can feel awkward, the animations are stiff, and you can definitely tell the game didn’t have a big budget, but the setting and atmosphere do a lot of the heavy lifting. Its version of Mars feels gritty and interesting to explore. It's clear that Spiders was ambitious in making the game. The faction conflicts, dialogue choices, crafting, and technomancy powers give it more depth than people usually expect going in. It’s not polished, and it definitely has some repetitive moments, the companion AI is not very bright, environments are not varied enough, camera controls can become frustrating during combat, the voice-acting is most of the time unintentionally funny, but if you like older BioWare-style RPGs or enjoy Euro-jank, Mars: War Logs is honestly a hidden gem. Plus the price's decent enough to make it worth buying.
The gameplay is good not for everyone and story is decent and game is good optimized. My laptop run very cool if you cap 30fps
Honestly wish Steam recommended me more games like this. Simple, straightfoward, with that old school charm. Gameplay is on simpler side, with melee mostly being dominant method of attacking, some magic and some shooting mixed in. Upgrades were mixed bag, have to admit. Never felt like they're doing much. For all player upgrades, enemies seem to scale, so it was mostly upgrading to keep up with enemy health, not to make fights faster. Stunlock was bit of a pain, as every enemy hit on player makes player character stumble, during which another enemy can hit him, then another, until player character dies without a chance to move. Story was decent, actually better than what I expected. Not sure how much dialogue choices affect what happens (outside of few major choices), but role-playing seemed fun. Though I will say, feared character trait is MUCH more useful than good one, which is completely useless. Overall though, really fun 16 hours for 1 playthrough, while doing all side-quests I could find and exploring every corner of the map.
I adore the games that Spiders makes. The jank and the clever integration of the main quest with side quests is a very fun romp. This however aint it. The writing is so awful that your "enemies" will become your allies just cause, the voice acting is so bad I'm pretty sure they had no director to tell them what the hell was going on, and the combat is just a slog. Enemies will literally just fart a white mist and you will miss cause why not!
