About
Maritime Calling is a seafaring survival RPG where you take command of a ship bound for the New World. As captain, you are responsible not only for the course of the voyage, but for every life on board.
Manage your crew, assign sailors to their posts, keep morale from collapsing, repair hull damage, ration supplies and make sure your ship can survive the next stretch of open sea. Every journey brings new hazards, from reefs and shoals to storms, enemy vessels and the slow pressure of hunger, fatigue and fear.
Sailing is more than a backdrop. You directly control your ship, adjust to the wind, handle sails and rigging, and learn to maneuver a heavy vessel that does not turn on a whim. In battle, positioning matters. In bad weather, one mistake can cost you dearly.
Beyond the deck, island expeditions unfold through text-based narrative events. Send your crew ashore to gather resources, investigate mysteries, face local dangers and make decisions shaped by your sailors’ skills. Some choices bring supplies and treasure. Others bring wounds, losses or consequences you will have to carry back to the ship.
Each voyage takes place across a procedurally generated world of islands, reefs, shipwrecks, shoals and stormy waters. Improve your crew, develop your ship and choose your route carefully. There are no second chances at sea, and every decision can become the difference between returning home and disappearing beyond the horizon.

You can already tell this game is a labour of love with a ton of potential. As a fan of sailing games, I'm really excited to see what will become in the future.
Beautiful sea views. In general, the picture is pleasant to the eye. An exciting boat trip. When landing on the islands - a fascinating text quest. For an indie Early Access game, that's okay. We are waiting for the opportunity to choose different ship models. Good luck to the developers :)
I like the idea of the game. The developer concentrates on the realistic sailing experience with crew management and food supply, but the game is still raw. However, I think it is worth waiting. I have read the roadmap, so the dev is going to work under the things that I'm interested in: diversity with ship and social experience with the crew
The game is much better with the new patches, the combat system and exploration is much more interesting and exciting! The story has also been improved. The region system gives you a better sense of the size of the archipelago than it was in earlier versions of the game. Finally added items that expand the role-playing component of the game, which is a real joy. The hunt for the most powerful cannon is what counts! :D I can really recommend this game to those who like meditative gameplay, location exploration and seafaring adventures.
I like the concept of the game and focus on in-ship mechanics, but there are still not too much content in it. It is quite interesting to manage crew and sailing is quite realistic. However, the world doesn't have enough things in it. Sometimes, it is simply too long to sail from one island to another. However, I liked the updates that the devs had announced and waiting new patch with world improvements. So, if you ask me, you should buy the game if you like sailing games, and you don't have problems with early access games.
I have played in demo when the game was on 0.6 stage. And I thought it was too raw, but I liked the idea and concept, so I was waiting for updates. Patch 0.7 have made a big difference. It feels now differently. Even simple sailing has a charm. The expeditions now are better, it doesn't look like an old text quest. There quite a lot of different interactions. In connection with fine art it seems fine. So now I will take more time to play the game)
En attente de Mise à Jour.
I highly recommend this game if you have an interest in the Age of Sail. It is a casual play sailing ship crew management game. The graphics for the land are low tech but the ship models are done well, circa 1600 galleon types. Basically you play Drake during the time of the Spanish Caribbean though the nations are fictionalized. The map is randomly generated and you have three starting classes: naval officer, pirate, and merchant so replay value is good. The adventures on land are text driven with die roll out comes like in a rpg game. There are no battle mechanic or fighting graphics; its a crew management game: who you put in the ships boats to go ashore effects the out come. You, as captain, and the crew gain skills and perks as you level up. The battles are simple you fire your cannons when you get the enemy ship in your broadside arc. There is ball, chain and grape. The wind affects your speed depending on the angle but there is no tacking as you can sail into the wind. The are 2 sail modes and you use these modes to control your speed. Again, would recommend on sale (i paid 6 us dollars. Fair enough but i would not pay much more) to Age of Sails fans. The ship models are done well. You can name you ships, and the names appear on your ships stern post while sailing around and battling. What more could you want? I have noticed most of the negative reviews for this game are because of bugs and crashes. I have played the game for over 7 hours - tutorial and about 4 hours in campaign - and have found no bugs and have had no crashes.
Ce jeu est prévu pour un clavier qwerty et on ne peut pas changer l'affectation des touches, les abordages en mode texte sont très décevant également. bref peu mieux faire.
