A fun arcade marble run game where you have to get for A to B fast along narrow platforms while dodging obstacles such as swinging hammers and axes! Great value and fun!
Roughly a 1 hour game snack with high replay value, if you're a speedrunner. It comes with an ingame leaderboard. Controlls are fantastic. I've played it with a 360 controller and always had the feeling to have absolute controll over the ball. Achievement Hunter Bonus: It first came with broken achievements, which are now fixed. Thumbs up for the dev for that.
The most important aspect of any marble game is that you can control the marble, and Marble Trap succeeds in this endeavor with almost perfect weight and feel to the marble. You can even control the marble in the air which is a Godsend. There's no excuses for dying. It's not going to be due to the controls. It might be something to do with the constant barrage of cannons though, whilst trying to avoid rotating axes and baddies, whilst also navigating bumps and thin ledges. The game is very challenging but also very rewarding. I get mental exhaustion from playing this game too long because you are on the edge of your seat all the time, with near misses, frustrating deaths, and wonder at how you managed to get past certain sections. It's certainly an adrenaline ride. The courses are very well designed and seem to be set up to inflict maximum frustration. From what I gather the cannon shots, spikes rising from the ground, and axe swings are all on timers, and even though it feels like they are waiting for you, I don't think they are, it's just the design is very well done. Learning these patterns can incentify you to get there a bit quicker than before so you do miss all those obstructions and roll through them with maximum smugness. The game almost challenges you to go faster and faster, risking it all for reward. If you want to play this game slowly and measured you will be unable to because if you do go too slow, there is a horde of angry flying axes waiting to kill you, forever pushing you forward at speed, and taking risks. There's also three stars to collect on each course, and they are usually in high risk areas, making your heart beat faster. There are 144 levels, all getting progressively harder, so it will especially appeal to speed runners with each course having a leader board, and if you do complete all the levels, there are still daily challenges, and a weekly challenge for you to compete on too.
🍳Conclusion🍳

Marble Trap is pure adrenaline fueled racing and on the edge risk taking that is exhausting to play but so satisfying when you succeed. I tend to play this game in bursts and then have a lie down. The controls are just about perfect, and there is enough content here to last for hours if your nerves are up to it.

Alright. Marble Trap is in fact exactly as the product page says. "Marble Trap is an isometric rolling race game where you need to roll your way to the finish without getting trapped." By trapped, what they mean is fall off the map into the water surrounding it or be destroyed by the active obstacles on the map. Which include cannons, spike traps, axe traps, trapdoors, and presumably more. Each level also includes stars for you to collect, which are tied to an achievement, so make sure you don't skip them. They're easy enough to grab. I've completed 18 of the 144 levels at this moment, and I could feel my blood pressure rising as I got hyper focused on trying to complete the mazes lol. Which in all honesty aren't all that difficult, but still require some focus and can be tension building. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3255843278 Although there isn't really much to the game, it is actually pretty fun, and very pleasant looking. Additionally, the soundtrack with the instrumental metal riffs and some kind of electronica tunes really keeps you engaged. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3255843250 I found this to be virtually unplayable with k/m. I mean, it is technically playable with k/m, but I had a difficult time with it. In contrast, it functioned perfectly well with a gamepad and with the Steam Deck. I think gamepad is the way to go with this game personally. There are leaderboards as well as daily and weekly challenges, so even if you complete the 144 levels, there is more game to be had here. There are also 100 achievements, so achievement hunters might also appreciate this game. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3255843316 All in all, I think it's an enjoyable puzzle game, and it's definitely pick up and play with each level probably only taking a couple minutes to complete (although I imagine the difficulty probably ramps up and those times along with it). It definitely earns it's $2.99 asking price, although obviously this game will go on sale frequently and has been bundled a few times. I think it's a pretty easy recommendation.
Marble Trap is another free Nannings game... oh wait, it's not free on Steam. Nannings makes this free on several websites, but Nannings are trying to scam people on Steam into paying money for something you can play for free on the web. That's right, because you're on Steam, Nannings would like to tell you to go screw yourself, you're a second class citizen here to pay them money for their scam. They also dumped this into game bundles, another way they're trying to scam people into paying money for something they already give away for free. That's not okay, I'll go so far as to say that's unethical. But this is Nannings we're talking about, and they've dumped this kind of pollution on Steam, running this scam dozens of times. Taking this seriously as a game (nobody should), it's a simple Flash/mobile app tier low poly/iso rolling marble action/puzzle game (Nannings are particularly poor developers and can't do 3D graphics properly). As usual with Nannings shovelware, I was surprised to see this isn't an asset flip, neither is it a mobile app... but for all intents and purposes it might as well be. There's nothing here for PC gamers. The game features lazy minimalist/untextured low-polygon "retro" assets and visuals, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the early 1990s. The lack of textures is a method that lazy devs often use to disguise their lack of talent/interest in doing the graphics properly and trying to disguise it under the name of "art", or "We made it look bad on purpose", which really isn't something gamers should have to put up with. It's unclear why the developers weren't willing to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets and high resolution textures for the game. It looks bad as a result of their decisions, and that's just another reason to avoid it. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 7 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Unethically, the developers are trying to charge money on Steam for a game that they give away for free in a web browser. This is a deliberate attempt to gouge Steam gamers for a free product, and shows particular scorn and disrespect for Steam gamers for this lousy browser game. To double down on this unethical attempt to dupe gamers into paying for something available for free, they also dumped this into cheap nasty game bundles as a further cash grab/scam attempt, misleading both gamers and the bundle sellers. Just who do they think we are?
Profile Features Limited!
Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Profile features limited. It is just garbage.
My most played game by far. It has simple controls but is very fun and difficult to try to optimize, making it my favorite game to speed run at the moment. I would recommend it for anyone, as even just a casual play through is more than worth the price of this game.
