I can hear the scream of trumpets Smell the ash and sulfur Talons of battalion scratch out the sky Like black feathers, scorpion eyes

Since each of these seven games produced by NanningsGames are mini games, I am going to review them all together.
Super Space Jump Man
Decent little platformer/runner where you are an astronaut leaping from planet to planet to the end of the level (of which I believe there are 24). They begin to increase in difficulty with various obstacles being added along the way. It actually looks nice in that pleasing, 1970's Atari/Intellivision type way, with a catchy little soundtrack that despite looping repeatedly, doesn't really overstay its welcome. Decent game for what it is.
Super Orb Collector
Same basic graphics and sound. In this one though, you control a large orb trying to consume all the smaller orbs on each level without touching anything else. If you touch something else, you explode and respawn with collected orbs remaining collected.
Super Grower
In this one, you are a square trying to consume everything on the screen. However, in order to do so, you have to consume them in a certain sequence (which varies from level to level). The things you consume don't sit idly by for the msot part though, and enemies are color coded, which determines the type of attacks they use against you. This one is essentially bullet hell-lite.
Hookshot
In this game, you basically hookshot your way around levels, again avoiding obstacles, on your way to the end of each level. That's about it.
Cube Mission
In this one, you roll a cube around trying to solve each levels puzzle. As with the previous games, each new level might add a new mechanic. In this one, there are flamethrowers, spiked cubes, etc...all standing in between you and the end of each level.
Tricky Cat
This one is a simple platformer with the twist that each platform can only be landed on once per level and disappears afterwards. The key is to clear all platforms and then still be able to make your final jump to the star at the end of each level. The puzzles will change a bit with teleport tiles, spike tiles, and so on. I found this to actually be the easiest of these seven games.
Enchanted Path
This is a disappearing tile game where you have to find the correct path to the end w/o trapping yourself. Some of the levels up the ante with a second avatar that moves exactly like the first, thus making traversing the paths even more difficult. Other wrinkles are added as you progress as well. The graphics in this one were an upgrade from all of NanningsGames other games they produce.
Verdict
I found no issues with any of the games. Each is k/m and gamepad compatible. Some favor one over the other, but both are usable throughout. All of these are pick up and play mini games. Play for a few minutes or achievement hunt your way to glory in an under an hour each. For a buck or so a piece, I think you will get proper value from each.
If you found this review helpful and would be interested in supporting my Curator group, it would be appreciated. Super Orb Collector is another Unity based WebGL game dumped on Steam as a lazy cash grab by Nannings in their ongoing crusade to pollute Steam and make gaming worse for everyone. It's an ultra lazy minimalist Unity asset flip tier action puzzle game where you move a dot from one place to another place without running into the obstacles. Yawn. They've published this free on the web in many places but they're trying to scam PC gamers into paying them $2 for it on Steam, which isn't acceptable. Of course they dumped this into DailyIndieGame bundles to try extract as much money as possible for what's basically a joke of a game.

It's a precision cursor game. Using mouse and a big white orb, you collect small orbs and try to reach exit without hitting walls. If you hit walls the orb shatters and the level shakes, but a new orb will spawn and you can continue like nothing happened. This renders it a bit too casual for my taste, but okay. I'd like to mention that you can play it free on Newgrounds. There are two small but significant differences between the Steam version and the free one. Curiously enough, in the trailer we're seeing the Newgrounds version. I'd like to adduce my suspicion that these differences might not be intended, so buckle up.
First difference: Orb movement
In the Newgrounds version, the orbs that you collect to complete a level move around a bit (see the trailer). So does the big sphere before you pick it to operate. In reality, the orbs move in tiny circles, and so does the big, playable orb. However, in the Steam version, at least on my computer, the orbits of the orbs are way bigger. This has two consequences: 1) The small orbs tend to go inside walls or outside the level, requiring you to wait for them to reappear. 2) The big orbs (the ones you play with) tend to hit the walls before you pick them up. You may "die" even before you pick the orb to play. The latter point has emergent consequences:
Second difference: Shaky deaths
In the Newgrounds version, death results in the level shaking slightly. In Steam version, it shakes way more. And combined with some levels having many playable orbs, they tend to migrate and collide with the walls, making the whole level shake up a lot, even moving it a bit. This in turns might cause you to accidentally hit a wall yourself. Additionally, if the level shakes up too much, some small orbs might become unreachable, effectively forcing a level restart.
Some technical aspects
The orb is moved with mouse. There are two technical qualms to the way this is handled: 1) The cursor stays on the orb constantly. It would look nicer if it disappeared when you operated the orb. 2) Orb just stays centered on the cursor. So, if you move your cursor fast, you can make it teleport from place to place: it's not true movement, so it would be easy to cheat. Finally, just a word on the presentation: though the graphics are simple and abstract, the music choice is quite fitting and energetic and I enjoyed it quite a lot.
Conclusions: Steam version is harder
My advice? Try the free version first. Then, if you like it, get this more frustrating version where dying matters because of the larger orbits. Or if that sounds bad to you, just play the free version. I was done with the 24 levels on Steam in about 20 minutes. While there's a nice amount of variation, I can't help but think it could do with some more content as a paid, albeit cheap, game. E.g. a no-death mode (e.g. with big orbs not respawning if you die) or timed challenges. In effect, it's got barely enough content for a recommendation. Get it on sale if you like the free version and wish to support the dev. ~Twistorian Curator~
I got it on sale for Euro 0,95 and beat the game 17 minutes later. This game does not have enough content.
Super Orb Collector (SOC) is a casual puzzle game themed around obtaining the titular objects whilst evading environmental hazards. This title is rather entertaining yet short, prompting little in terms of critique, so I will be brief with this writing. I received SOC through the Curator Connect function on Steam, and have played the title with both the primary mouse and controller maneuverability options.
Here are several objects of discussion for this title: Gameplay - Spanning approximately twenty minutes from my experience, Super Orb Collector allots this presentation with the linear stage progression of moderately challenging puzzles. The primary objective of this game is to collect each of the glowing orbs in each stage, then progress to the revealed goal marker; you must do so while not coming into contact with moving map materials manufactured to be obstacles. For example, rotating wall segments, constantly expanding and retracting patterns, and even the entire screen boundary warping back and forth hinder the player’s progression, provoking hesitation while demanding precise response to advance. With these elementary features in place, SOC’s stages become progressively more difficult by combining various obstacles into the level’s central theme. The key feature I find most intriguing is that when your orb is defeated by coming into contact with said impediments, you do not immediately fail the level and instead are transported back to that orb’s spawn point. This is cleverly linked with level design to separate a multitude of challenges within a single screen. Both the controller and mouse navigation configurations are adequate for play, however I preferred the latter as it directed the player’s orb most accurately. Sadly, Super Orb Collector retains said laconic nature regarding how long it takes to experience the title in its entirety while offering no extended challenges beyond the repetition of completed levels. TL:DR - Super Orb Collector is an entertaining puzzle title for the short duration it requires for the player to complete it; ‘simple yet effective’ remains the key phrase regarding games such as this. I recommend SOC to those that enjoy games of similar genres, as well as those that wish for a more casual experience. Thanks for reading. Do you feel this review helped in any way?
