Barnyard Mahjong 3 to solidny mahjong z uroczą tematyką wiejską, idealna dla graczy poszukujących relaksującej rozrywki. Jednak brak innowacyjności i powtarzalność mogą zniechęcić do dłuższej gry.
I have played through every level of this game, and I can safely say that whether you like Mahjong or love Mahjong, you don't want this Mahjong. This game has very, very few positives to it: • The graphics are kind of cute • The controls for the traditional Mahjong all work as expected, I only encountered a bug once where two tiles wouldn't match out of 640 levels, and it fixed itself by resetting the level. It's negatives are far more prevalent: • The music and sound effects are SO BAD. But at least they can be muted. • The animations for the selected tile and any unplayable tiles are sort of distracting. Selected tiles give off a pulsating outline and unplayable tiles give off some ZZZ's like they're sleeping for way longer than needed. • The tiles lack depth, and because this game lacks some quality of life features that better Mahjong game have, like having unplayable tiles grayed out or hidden, it's hard to tell which tiles are playable or not in some of the arrangements. • The only thing that affects your score is how much time goes by between matches. You have the option of turning off the timer in the pause menu, but all it does is hide it, it's still going, and it's still the only thing that determines your score. • Starting in world 5, some of the tiles get cut off screen and the game lacks any kind of resolution option. • Exiting the game takes longer than needed because you have to wait for the UI to load for the level screen and the world screen before the Esc button will work. World 7 and 8 add a new mechanic to the mix: 3d levels. It's... passable, but the controls aren't very good. Rotation direction seems to be determined by what tile you're selected on, so sometimes you end up going the opposite direction from what you want. In 3d you're able to select any tile that you want, regardless if it's edges are touching other tiles, so it's less Mahjong and more "match the tiles as quickly as possible". Overall, this game seems to have strived to be as different from traditional Mahjong as it could be. It turned a game of patience, meditation, and planning into a game of frenzied matching, and it's wholly unenjoyable. (My time is slightly exaggerated because I got distracted while playing, but the game IS ~30 hours long. If you're looking for quantity over quality in your Mahjong, I guess you do get it with this game.)
Audiovisuals are quite bad. It's a standard Mahjong game, but the game tries to make it irritating with unclear mahjong pieces, annoying audio and visual effects that distract. Unsatisfying game that I do not recommend as there are many better mahjong games.
Barnyard Mahjong 3, developed and published by EnsenaSoft, is a relaxed and content-rich entry in the long-running tradition of Mahjong solitaire puzzle games. Built around a charming farmyard theme, it takes the familiar tile-matching formula and presents it in a colorful, approachable package designed for casual players. Rather than reinventing the genre, the game focuses on accessibility, volume of content, and a calming atmosphere, making it well-suited for players who enjoy methodical puzzle solving without pressure or complexity. The core gameplay follows the classic Mahjong solitaire structure. Players are presented with layered tile layouts and must match identical pairs to clear them from the board. Only tiles that are not blocked by others and have at least one free side can be selected, requiring careful observation and strategic planning. While the mechanics are simple to understand, the challenge increases as layouts grow more intricate. Clearing a board successfully often demands forward thinking, as prematurely removing certain tiles can limit future matching options. This element of light strategy ensures the experience remains engaging across longer play sessions. One of Barnyard Mahjong 3’s most notable strengths is its sheer volume of content. The game includes hundreds of distinct layouts spread across multiple themed worlds. Each world introduces slight visual variations and gradually escalates the complexity of board designs. Early puzzles serve as a gentle introduction, while later stages incorporate taller stacks and denser arrangements that require sharper attention and more deliberate play. The extensive number of levels provides significant longevity, allowing players to progress at their own pace without quickly exhausting the available content. Visually, the game embraces a bright, farm-inspired aesthetic. Tiles feature imagery tied to rural life, including animals, tractors, barns, and other agricultural motifs. The art style is clean and readable, prioritizing clarity over elaborate detail. Backgrounds are pleasant and unobtrusive, reinforcing the relaxing atmosphere. The interface is straightforward and intuitive, allowing players to navigate menus, select levels, and adjust settings without confusion. The overall presentation aims to create a lighthearted environment that complements the calm, repetitive nature of Mahjong solitaire. In addition to traditional 2D layouts, the game incorporates some boards presented in a pseudo-3D style. These layouts add a visual twist by arranging tiles in multi-faced structures that can be rotated. This introduces a small layer of spatial awareness, as players must consider tile accessibility from different perspectives. While some players appreciate the added variation, others may prefer the simplicity and clarity of the classic flat boards. Nonetheless, the inclusion of multiple layout styles adds diversity and prevents the game from feeling entirely uniform. Audio design supports the relaxed pacing. Soft background music and gentle sound effects accompany tile selections and matches without becoming distracting. The soundtrack is designed to maintain a calm mood rather than heighten tension. This reinforces the game’s identity as a low-stress puzzle experience ideal for unwinding. There are no time limits or aggressive scoring pressures unless players choose to focus on optimizing performance, allowing for a leisurely and thoughtful approach. Despite its strengths, Barnyard Mahjong 3 remains firmly within the boundaries of traditional Mahjong solitaire. It does not introduce significant mechanical innovations or experimental features. Players seeking dramatic twists on the formula or competitive multiplayer elements will not find them here. Instead, the game’s appeal lies in consistency and comfort. It delivers exactly what it promises: a large collection of farm-themed Mahjong puzzles presented in a friendly and accessible format. Overall, Barnyard Mahjong 3 is best appreciated as a dependable and expansive casual puzzle title. EnsenaSoft has created a game that prioritizes approachability and quantity, offering hundreds of boards that range from simple to moderately challenging. Its cheerful farm aesthetic, steady difficulty curve, and substantial level count make it an inviting choice for Mahjong enthusiasts and newcomers alike. While it may not redefine the genre, it stands as a solid and relaxing option for players looking to enjoy classic tile-matching gameplay in a charming rural setting. Rating: 6/10
