Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 36.14/day in the week to Jul 22 → 49.38/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Nice shooter, perfect visual, interested world!
I played a ton of Tarkov in the past, so take this review through that lens. To me, Marathon feels like Tarkov for the employed. It's easier to get into matches and the sponsored kits removed a lot of the gear fear since the game is constantly giving you new equipment. That said, the highs are still there. The aesthetic is rad and the game has a unique identity. Bungie also nailed the gunplay. The game could use a bit more content, but I think the Vault Breaker event could lead to something interesting on the PvE side. Overall, I'd recommend Marathon in its current state. The art style and shooting mechanics alone make it worth experiencing, especially if you can pick it up on sale. Also, I think it's worth giving Bungie some credit for taking a risk. How often do AAA developers actually try making something this unexpected? An extraction shooter was definitely a choice, but I appreciate them trying something different.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Matched by title — a reused name can pair the wrong games. * is a critic aggregate. Prices and positions are each store's United States storefront; Epic charts worldwide. Audience and Score too, except Steam's, which is worldwide.

难评,我喜欢美术,手感,gunplay,环境氛围和音效,只能说这个游戏除了不该是个游戏其他都及格了。还有我是赤石大王
Amazing art style, music, gunplay, lore. Enough said. F the haters. The only critiques I could give are: 1) TTK seems to be quite low, which can ruin your game if you're solo. 2) There's an hourly rotation of maps which are locked out of solo play sometimes, which, again, kind of ruins the experience. With the Cryo Archive where you MUST have 3 players to even play, makes you come to the conclusion that this game was initially designed around 3-man squads, but, let's face it, at the current player count it's not the right move. We can take Vault Breakers as the most recent example - there are reviews from peoplle who literally bought this game just for Vault Breakers, which at the time of writing this is a temporary, experimental mode (God I hope they tweak it in the near future and make a banger out of this). There are people who never got to experience Cryo (like me) as they don't have any friends (skill issue, I know), and don't want to team up with random people with no mics. And then what do you know, people can't jump into the arguably best map in the game. And then "Wow, why is our player count going down?". I love Marathon, and want it to flourish, but Bungie has to rethink the direction they want to take Marathon.
visually, it looks like they took the vibrant color palate to match the 90's aesthetic. that's the only good thing i can say about it.
♥♥♥♥♥
Writing this as Vault Breaker (the experimental PvE mode) has been extended for testing Marathon is super addictive, the art direction is genuinely mind-boggling (especially if you are into a Y2K Cyberpunk / acid graphic style vibe), and the game feels genuinely challenging and rewarding at the same time. While an earlier review would have said something along the lines of a steep learning curve and unforgiving hardcore shooter elements—some people playing are genuinely cracked—the newly introduced PvE mode "Vault Breaker" has made it a fair bit easier to actually get into the game and test out the different (and incredibly enjoyable) shells and their abilities; all of which feels well-balanced. There is also a general understanding between players that looking for ways to parley and cooperate is nothing only privy to ARC Raiders, and Bungie has made an effort (e.g. Mercy Kits and shared exfil bonuses) to nurture this sort of playstyle. Bottom line: challenge and reward are in equal exchange, so if you're looking for a game that's both hard but super fun, Marathon is very much recommended. 9.5/10
Immaculate vibes.
Pls live * I'm glad you guys will cook for December, and I'm seeing loads of ideas everywhere... what I think you should focus tho is on performance. I have a mid-range rig with no problems in other games (Hunt Showdown runs great for me for example). But I can only play Perimeter and Dire Marsh, the latter with dips. Outpost is too frustrating, so I can't... There was a survey on Steam, and the majority runs something similar to mine... My point is if one can't properly play the game, ESPECIALLY a PvP game, they'll bail
I think Marathon gets a lot of undue hate. Is it Destiny? No. Will it ever be Destiny? No. However, that does not mean Bungie is doomed and should shut down forever. If anything, I'm glad Bungie is taking a different path forward. As far as extraction shooters, this is a really solid game! While there are some minor UI bugs in the menus, the other parts of the game make up for it. First off, this game has by FAR the greatest sound design out of any game I've ever played. You could hear a mouse fart from 1.7 miles away. Siege wishes it had a sound design like this. The overall vibe/aesthetic of the game is also very unique. The shells/characters each have their own unique design/play style that allows each player to really hone in on their desired playstyle. Bungie has continually improved the bots' intelligence and behavior. Instead of being super easy to get around, their detection range now make them somewhat of a concern and can make you re-evaluate your movement through areas. Lastly, there is a battle/season pass, however, there IS NOT ANY TIME LIMIT. You can complete Season 1's pass after you complete the current season's pass, even if you didn't even own the game during season 1! NO FOMO! With all that being said, I think there are a few notable weak points right now: - The game is still in its infancy, so Bungie is still dialing in what kind of future features to include. - The aforementioned UI menu bugs, which are a minor annoyance/inconvenience at most and fix themselves if you just wait a couple seconds. - Player count is unfortunately still fairly low sometimes, it's not unusual that you will see familiar faces if you frequently play late at night. - Matchmaking is not skill-based from what I can tell, so you will be playing against high and low level players all in the same match (not that level is a very good reflection of skill, but still). Overall, I would strongly recommend giving this game a shot if you enjoy extraction shooters and are looking for a bit of a different vibe from your traditional hero-shooter/extraction shooter.
