ManServant: Gay Visual Novel

Initially, I thought that this review would be a positive one, but then I remembered how much money I spent on this game. I played Alpha Hole Prison, so I was excited for another game by this developer because I am a sucker for BL visual novels. However, I feel like this game was a major letdown. The story felt rushed and as though your actions affected the story very little. Yes, there are "multiple endings," but the credits only play after the good ending for each route, which is why I thought my choices didn't matter very much. I was so excited about the premise of this game, but it fell flat. I did enjoy the character designs for the demons, but not so much for the humans. I also would have loved some voice acting. (Maybe a future update?) I feel that there is very little game-play for how much I paid for the game. I hope this review helps!

I've played several games from this company and they've all been enjoyable to one degree or another. This one takes things up a notch with a much deeper story and more expansive lore. For a game that is, essentially, porn, the creators worked hard to build a different and interesting world. None of the characters are quite what you expect and secrets abound in the palace of the Emperor. Pros: Excellent story and dialogue. Gorgeous color images Multi-layered characters Intuitive choices for character paths Cons: Not sure I love the black and white images. The non-con BDSM elements are a bit rough (though well done)

If your looking for a game with no character development or well done storyline then you've come to the right place. For the cost I feel appalled. "Perfectly kinky without any uncomfortable moments. The manga pages add so much more luscious content, and the stories manage to be touching, romantic, and mind-blowingly sexy." If you call one of the love interest being shared good then yes, so romantic. Without uncomfortable moments? Plenty of those. It has the feeling that MC is everybody's second choice. LOL. If you don't like a short fling or sharing your love interest like me it porbably isn't your cup of tea. There's gay visual novels out there with mind-blowingly sexy moments, and loads of storyline for around the same price. Nitro+Chiral is the best game developers out there if your looking for a well done BL visual Novel. I don't reccomned paying this much for a short porno.

Overall I'd give this game an 8/10. It's genre-compliant, writing's pretty good, art is okay, story is satisfying and the variety of NSFW scenarios is fairly varied within its niche. It could do with some more sprites for each character and the art isn't quite at a professional level but it's still an overall enjoyable experience. There are multiple endings as well, I only played through once so I'm not sure how much replayability there genuinely is but it's nice to have the option. I might pick up the strategy guide just out of curiosity, I like the ending I got but I'm always interested in where the story lines diverged. I would recommend this game to fans of the genre. It's not breaking any new ground but it's still a solidly enjoyable 3-4 hours.

一个非常中规中矩的耽美作品，剧情上没有什么特别出彩的，但是龙、恶魔这种的人设非常戳我~他们的玩法也是非常精彩啊，所以即使没有配音、bgm品味也不咋地的情况下我也依然能从中获得享受，当然，再多的感触也是没有了，时不时温习一下这些cg还是不错的。

I've only played one route but I have to say I love this game! TW: Slavery, rape, lack of consent, BDSM, fictional limit breaking. CN: Main character is a slave, and thus has no consent in most of the interactions. The concept of consent is thus not applicable to reality. GAME TW NOTICE: At the beginning of the game there is a disclaimer that this story is about slaves who inherently don't have the kind of consent you expect in daily life. Thus the consent aspect core to BDSM isn't present. Further, it has some BDSM practises that are dangerous in real life and aren't advised. ACCESSIBILITY: +As mentioned, the trigger warning and contextualising notice at the beginning of the game is great. +Self-voicing is available (text to speech). Initially there is text on the screen instructing you how to hide the text to get the full image on screen and the self reading will read that out. But after a few frames that text disappears and it won't be as frustrating to have read out. +Adult scenes aren't censored, which can make it more immersive. -As this is yaoi (sex orientated), there is no option for more censored gameplay. -The menu text is really hard to read (especially when not highlighted). It's going for a roman style text but it's not the most easy to read with low contrast colours. THE GAME: The BDSM scenes are very satisfying, and the characters for the most part are very handsome and charismatic. The main character is an egotistical and vain slave, who has high ambitions and a low work ethic. He manages to achieve his dream where he realises he's not as unique as he thought (or is he), and has to navigate perilous situations with higher stakes than he's ever faced as a country slave. His flaws are kind of charming, and I like that he doesn't accept being bullied by people, even if he's a bit of a brat sometimes, I like his back bone. I also love that it had a polyamorous route, which you can access immediately. It was really cute and is so rare to find! :) I may add more as I complete more routes.
