The Great War is a turn-based grand strategy game based on the epic struggles of the WWI era. Experience the battles of attrition and punishing artillery barrages. Play as any nation of the period as the modern world of industrialized warfare replaces an age of kings with a struggle of ideologies.

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 1 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The game is cool but you have to spend a lot of time. It is like some kind of drug. I do NOT recommend this game because of all that lost TIME!
Bomboş oyun, boşa para. Çağdaş hatta eski rakipleriyle bile baş edemez.
One of the best games where you can live up to piece of the cold war, it has events that actually happened on the days they happend, truly a great game 9/10

fantastic but ill like the do all button: when u have a lot of provinces(or city's) not to click on all of them for something but just select vthe thing and booom everything is made not wasting 10 min
While the game could use a lot more polish (you can't load a save without exiting and relaunching the game client, wtf?) and suffers some technical issues ("Out of Memory" crash etc...), it has the intermediate level of complexity in empire management and the stress-free turn based nature that I'm looking for. A good middle ground between the simplicity of (new) Total War titles, and the "spreadsheet simulator" Paradox games.
These games are definitely underrated. It's basically a skeleton of something that could overtake the strategy gaming industry and could easily compete with paradox if they had the meat and the blood to back it up. It lacks in updated graphics, more diplomatic actions, and government admin. However the economic portion of this one specifically and military is superb. It's not too difficult to comprehend, but there is still plenty of room to micro and be able to skillfully gain a competitive edge. This one for sure could be single player or multiplayer. I'm not a huge fan of making history 2's economy, this one is for sure the better of the 2. I've only played these 2, I haven't played the one that came out in 2021, but it really needs a graphical upgrade. For now it's a skeleton and it has the organs of something phenomenal and great. It needs some purdy flesh to go with it. I'm a huge fan of these games. But they definitely need some funding to bring it to the next level. If it had the graphics of a paradox game, this game would immediately catch peoples attention. It has the mechanics. The mechanics in my opinion are better and more complete than pretty much any other grand strategy game. Its more complete in the sense that for example Total war games focus mostly on battles, and the eco is missing. Or paradox mostly focuses on the role playing portion, and in other ways seems incomplete. This one definitely feels more complete, and I don't think it'd be difficult for it to take off fast if it was more visually appealing. This one specifically truly is a hidden gem. The second one isn't bad. But this one is a diamond in the rough.
Replay WWI. Play as any of the main countries. Britain. France. Germany. Any of them. Even Russia. Having read a dozen books on this war, I was amazed at just how close Germany came to victory. If only they would have had ME as their Fieldmarshall, they would have won, and there would have been no NAZI Germany or Soviet Russia. Here is my chance to win the war. I just wish the control scheme wasn't so complex. It will take some study to figure out all the different variables. For WWI or WWII buffs, it will be worth the effort.
I'd consider leaving a neutral review if I could. The games has some amazing pros, but is held back across the board by the cons and isn't worth $30 at this point in time. The game's premise is very good. However, as others have complained about weird AI, trading, politics, and incredibly tedious empire management hold it back. Additionally, bugs or lack of clarity with things like trading and resource consumption each turn make it really hard to understand where your economy stands turn to turn, and sometimes you have to hope things don't implode without knowing why if you're in a tough spot. I'd get it again on sale, but it's not worth $30, and doesn't have the polish that a finished game should have. This is unfortunate because there's some gold in the game too. Requiring logistics for many things including trade is often overlooked, but present here. The revolts and independence movements give simple counterplay for humans (with resource management required) but makes things interesting with the AI. The supply chains and optimal building patterns are deceptively complex. There's a lot of flavor for smaller, often overlooked nations. It just doesn't properly execute on any of the ideas quite in the way it needs to.
One of the worst grand strategies I've ever had the misfortune of playing. You need to experience all nine layers of Dante's Inferno, yourself to truly comprehend what I mean. All nine layers, being this game.
