a lovely, fun game with great puzzles, a beautiful art style and an incredible soundtrack!! 10/10 would recommend
Machinarium simultaneously feels like a perfect exemplar of the adventure genre's strengths and an disappointing example of the failures that made the genre so infamous and radioactive for so long. The game's main strength is in its personality. Beautiful and quirky hand drawn art, charming character designs and an approach to storytelling with minimal dialog in favor of actions and little animated thought balloons. The music is also perfectly quirky and off-kilter. So why the negative score? The puzzles. The puzzles are what does it in. They're exactly the sort of moon logic, pixel hunt nonsense that Sierra would get up to in Kings Quest or the like, and they're still just as unfun to figure out. You walk into a room, often without a clear goal, click on things to see what's interactable (and hope you don't miss something in the detailed but unhelpful art), and then randomly start using items or combining them to see what what will happen, often something arbitrary and obtuse but necessary to progress (and the lack of dialog makes for a difficult time in figuring out exactly what's wrong with your solution). If you're lucky, there might be a somewhat useful hint for the puzzle. If not, then you can consult the in-game guide which spells out the solution *directly*, which not only spoils whatever fun there might have been anyway, it also feels like an obvious Band-Aid for bad design. Oh, and also whenever you use it for the first time in a new area, you have to play a dull little shmup in order to access it. Fun? It's a real shame that a game so dripping in charm and appeal is so unfun to actually play, but style can't trump substance when it comes to games like this.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

If you feel nostalgic for old point-and-click Flash games or enjoy point-and-click games in general, I absolutely recommend this game. Machinarium's puzzles will keep you scratching your head without being frustratingly obtuse, and even if you're feeling stumped, each level lets you use a hint to understand the objective. (The Steam Trading cards also feature a few "solved" levels. Hint hint.) Not to mention, the artwork, sound design, and music are all well done -- they still hold up after all of these years. Is this game well-crafted enough to justify a $20 price tag, though?...I doubt it. Anyone interested should definitely get this when it's for sale. Monetary worth aside, Machinarium is a cute, yet challenging game that can be beaten in a relatively short time (~4-8 hours). If an idiot like me who's terrible with puzzles can complete this without a walkthrough, so can you. 8.5/10
第一次玩机械迷城还是八九年前了,简直就是我的童年启蒙解谜游戏,通关了好多遍,今天再次补完了一遍流程,作为当时出品的游戏放到现在依然能打,无论是画风还是世界观都夯暴了
Might be the best point and click game I have ever played. The art, story and soundtrack are top tier

pure nostalgia, ty again Alex
