About
It's a weird time for fans of modern tank combat games. The straight-shooting simulator titles from the turn of the millennium are no more. As tank nerds, we need a game that gets right to the good stuff - modern tanks, realistic system and damage models, and a focus on fun over all.
With Gunner, HEAT, PC! we aim to make that dream a reality.
GHPC will blend game and simulation in just the right amounts, providing awesome fire control and ballistics simulation behind deceptively simple controls. This core feature set serves as the foundation for a rich single player campaign mode, skirmish missions, and (eventually) cooperative multiplayer modes: a satisfying option for every taste. And let's not forget about infantry and support units - tanks weren't built to fight alone. AI-controlled combined arms forces will round out the tactical environment and let armored units shine the way they were meant to.
We're making a great tank game because that's what we want to play.
GHPC features a fictional conflict between NATO and the Warsaw Pact in central Germany circa 1985. Play as armored units from the United States, Soviet Union, German Democratic Republic, and Federal Republic of Germany.

Great game, hope those voice actors got paid well. You can really hear the fear of impending death in their screams Side note: Give me a mission editor and my life is yours
The perfect combination of abstraction and realism. Could use more variety but since this game is set in the Fulda Gap during the late Cold War, complaining about it wouldn't make too much sense. The devs keep getting everything right and every regular update brings nothing but pure enhancements to the game, something you don't see everyday.

All I gotta say is its a breath of fresh air after being gassed for money by warthunder. 11/10 for anyone who wants an immersive yet still fun tank experience. Cant wait for online (once that comes out, warthunder i going Down!!!!
This game has been in development for a long time. The new AI update has completely revolutionized the game. It is so much more engaging now. The update has really tied all the developer's work together.
Average at best. The somewhat immersive experience is ultimately ruined by a rather empty battlefield and AI enemies engaging you through bushes. What's worse is that the controls are rather clunky and that the game runs pretty terribly. Zooming into burning vehicles maxxes out the GPU for no reason, considering that GPHC looks like a game made 10 years ago. Yes, niche market and small development team. I get all of that. But considering it's reaching the 4 year mark of Early Access and seeing that about 200K units have been sold (according to sensortower at the time of writing) then it's pretty certain that GPHC is not being properly developed and won't ever see a satisfactory state.
just a very shallow game once you get past the eye candy and the niche aiming mechanics. the game looks cool and has an interesting aesthetic, but the actual gameplay is unbelievably bad. AI will still shoot you through bushes from 1km away after a patch that supposedly fixed this, infantry missiles will track you over hilltops like top-attack javelins and you are seriously expected to engage helicopters with tank main guns. the AI, which is tied to your lose condition, will get torn apart if not babysitted to the point of pre-planning every single thing that they do. unfortunately, i paid for a tank tactics game, and not an RTS. a lot of small issues like this constantly pile up in every mission and make you question why you're even playing it in the first place. to be honest, this game sits in a deeply unsatisfying middle ground between a true simulator experience and something more arcade-y. it has most of the hassle of a sim with too little of the fun/goofy parts of a game. you're probably better off with one of the two extremes, and if you're good enough at tactics or ranging gunfire, you'd enjoy something like steel beasts or IL2 tank crew far more.
Devs that care. with the recent AI changes i can finally reccomend this game, if you ever wanted to play around with tanks this is THE game for you. accurate internals and ballistics, modeled FCS and optics, lots of controllable units to experiment with and now the AI enhancements. there is still a lot to do in terms of making the game feel alive and not like a shooting gallery or live-fire training range but so far its making very good progress. support these devs, they genuinely care about their game.
Very fun. Was surprised at how easy it was to pick up with little trouble. Tutorials are easy and concise and the game is very fun. Just needs MP and a mission editor now.
Perfect balance in between arcadish and professional lvl. Very good optimization and smooth gameplay. Also voice acting is one of the best i have ever heard in any sim. IF you want a cold war era warfare sim - this is for you. Also, developers are very active, updates and patches are frequent, and what is even more important - they listen! When real life tankers give them feedback on their discord, usually that input is implemented in next few patches.
Best tank game on Steam as it stands. Tank models are beautiful, the armor simulation is great, and the developers do their best to uphold realism without making it feel like a training sim. Only complaint is the lack of variety in the content, but it is in early access.
