Centuries ago, a primal magic surged from the earth's depths, fueling empires but twisting it's inhabitant and the world into corruption's grasp. Forests blackened, skies bled shadow, and rivers turned to poison.
But a less prevalent radiant energy was also born, and hidden within pure warriors, the Luminaries. Armed with the light, their goal is to reclaim the land, hurling back the blight.
Yet the Luminary's gift is double-edged, immortality that tempts the soul. Every 80 years, Luminaries must yield their light to a successor, or risk eternal decay. Defiant ones hoard it, swelling into godlike tyrants of darkness, the Ebonarchs
As a new Luminary, rise in power. Shatter the Ebonarch's abyssal power source to strip their immortality, and strike them down. Together with your fellow Luminaries, push back the Darkness with Light.

Pretty impressive this was made by 2 people
I want to begin by objectively stating on record Three things as fact(s) from my personal experience in the world of Luminary in it's current Early Access version of release. 1) The Development Team responsible for this project are extremely passionate, and take heavy stock in both the Positive and Negative feedback from the community. They are very attentive to the feedback loop (which is evident in my personal interactions with the Developer), it showcases their motivation to provide an enjoyable experience now and into the future. 2) Is Luminary worth the price and is it worth your time? Absolutely YES it is! I Fully completed ALL tasks on the Tier-1 mode in around 25 hours, so the value of entertainment when considering the Box price is exceptional! Not to mention there is still the optional Tier-2 mode playthrough, which I am in the process of completing with 27 hours in the world of Luminary at the time of writing this review. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3782438068 3) The development of this project seems to be legitimate and derived from a passion to create an engaging world to explore with a blend of unique gameplay progression! So this further emphasizes the project's primary function is to provide entertainment and fun, and NOT to capitalize on Greed (The Developer clearly stated in a Discussion Forum reply that they "could have" implemented a Cosmetic Shop but "CHOSE NOT TO"). I believe this shows the clear intentions of the Dev. Team and the true essence of what they want to provide to the community, which is simply an entertaining game. Thank you for all who took the time to read this, and once again thank you to the Dev. Team for the hard work and bringing Luminary to Early Access!

So, played this game in alpha, beta, open beta 2nd beta, third beta and the final result. the leaps and bounds they made every update and new beta are so different from the last. The final result is definitely good, its early access so don't expect THE GRAND FINALE, but do not think that this will compare to a lot of other low level EA games either. definitely got a diamond in the rough here gents.. keep going

Tut mir leid aber nein.
its very early in the alpha testing stage but i am enjoying the game a lot.
The game reminds me of Immortals Fenyx Rising SO FAR in terms of simplicity of combat. Played the demo earlier in the year and there has been a lot of improvement. My only complaint is the UI comes across as 'cheap' but that's minor and I'm sure its already on the devs to-do list. Saw some complaints about the voice acting but I think its great based on the NPC at the start. Also would love save anywhere but thats just my preference, Still lots to explore but first impressions is very good so far, especially for a devs first game with a 2 man team. GGz
So far so good. (admittedly only a few hours in, but happily working my way around the map) It's got 2 of my favourite things in a fantasy game...ability to play dwarf, and plenty of goblins to kill, with the occasional big golem for a bit more challenge. Admittedly it can get a bit tedious after a while, as there's not really any variety yet...the goblins are in packs of 4 usually, 1 archer, 3 with clubs, predictable reactions...I'm hopeful there'll be more enemy types along the way, maybe wolves, trolls, squirrels even. Graphics are smooth, music is nice (a bit repetetive, but that's no big deal), combat is easy enough. Character creation is pretty fine, several races to go for, and some nice customisation. I'm sure the guys making this have plenty of plans to add to this, and I'm looking forward to seeing them. Hopefully some crafting, more variety of loot, weapons, armor and enemies. For a 2-man team, this is a very impressive game so far and I wish the guys every success.
I don't normally grab early access games like this, but I saw the creator on Steam and liked his pitch. This game is in very early access stage, but the bones are so solid. The game looks great, plays really well. They just need to keep pumping it out. Keep your eye on Luminary.
Luminary has been a really enjoyable surprise! The game is currently in Early Access, but even at this stage, there’s already a lot to enjoy. The world has a great atmosphere, the scenery is beautiful, and exploring the different areas while getting into fights with goblins is a lot of fun. There’s something really satisfying about just jumping in, wandering around, and seeing what you can discover while taking down goblins along the way. The game has a great foundation, and you can really see the potential for it to grow into something special as more content and features are added. I also have to give credit to the developers. You can tell there’s a lot of passion behind Luminary, and I’m excited to see how the game continues to develop throughout Early Access. It’s always exciting getting to experience a game early and then watch it improve and expand over time. If you enjoy exploration, adventure, and having a good time slaying goblins, I definitely recommend checking out Luminary. It’s still Early Access, but I think it has a ton of potential, and I’m looking forward to seeing where the developers take it!
