Pretty sure the dev gave up on the game... to bad
its upsetting to me that a sim game released in 2021 and updated till October 2022 can have so many bugs and issues, it is fun until you reach level 4 and have to restart practically every 12 minutes because your machinery is not working properly. its the type of game play id expect from a free indie game. I do enjoy this game it just frustrates the hell out of me that sometimes things inexplicably don't work
I was stoked to play this game when I seen my favorite Facebook streamer playing it one day. Being a former logger, the thought of this game immediately caught my interest and was expecting it to be a pretty close simulator of the job. I was left disappointed to see that this game was full and still is full of bugs that continue to plague this game. This games controls are also super confusing, overly touchy and not touchy enough at times, and seemingly little to no support for a controller. Game play over all is a mess and just not what I would have expected it to be. I also don't know how may times I've expected this game to have an auto save feature to only be disappointed every time I've left the game to find that all the progress I've made was gone. This game doesn't even come close to the logging experience, and I had high hopes that it would have been close. Seeing how the Farming Simulator series has put forth a lot of effort into the logging aspect of their games gave me pretty high hopes for this title being focused on logging and logging only. I still have hope that this developer will eventually add important things, like auto save and better control schemes. I hope that they will add in different equipment that isn't locked out behind a pay wall. That is the biggest turn off for me, I would love to support official DLC, but when you want to charge five bucks to unlock a loan feature, (again, the Farming Simulator series integrated that in the game at launch), makes me want to uninstall the game. To anyone wanting to buy this game, I would wait for it to be on some kind of mega super sale, and NOT pay full price for it. It's too much money for a game that's as "broken" as this one is. If you can't wait, purchase a Farming Simulator 17 or newer game to play. It's much better in almost every aspect, plus allows for so much other things to do at the same time. Hopefully one day I can re-review this game and leave it a positive review. Good Luck, and listen to your player base!
Graphics need work still. Great game but due to the graphics choppy and phasing places I can't play it in this state. Workshop has very few items in there for this game and I do think the rendering is the main reason why. Has alot of promise if the dev's would work on the graphics instead of dlc's...
games freeze to much and no way to delete save game
Lumberjack Review 1. Art and graphics are very good. 2. Machine motion for the most part is very good. 3. This game has huge potential if these issues were addressed. Issues list (Note that this list comes from playing the game for more than 90 hours) 1. Tracked Harvester says there is a free camera but it is actually tracking camera. There is no free camera on any of the tracked vehicles and it is badly needed. 2. All wheeled vehicles really need better breaks as they won't hold on a hill. They also could use a good parking break. On a hill the only way to stop the Skidder or truck from rolling on it's own is to jump out of the vehicles as the breaks won't hold it. But when outside you can't run the wench and if the hill is steep enough as soon as you get back in the vehicles will start rolling again mostly uncontrollably. This is more than a minor inconvenience it is down right annoying! 3. There are a lot of bugs. Here are a few....Things as minor as random piece of tree flying around while you are moving logs. Another would be you set a choker with the winch on the Skidder and then use the clamp. You use backspace to disengage the cable and you assume it released. Then you release the clamp and it continues to tow the log as if the cable is still attached. 4. every time you load a saved game and you have the Skidder the blade drops into the ground to the point it is buried. you can still drive the Skidder as if the blade is above ground until you try to go across a bridge or some other obstruction, the Skidder will then come to an abrupt stop. 5.Generally when you save a game you can't depend on things being the same as you left them. For instance When I reloaded the game later the trailer was no longer connected to the truck. It was also tilted back and partially on top of the truck. Another time I had a load of mud mats neatly stacked in the trailer when saved. When I loaded the game again it was a jumbled mess. I spent about 3 hours loading the Forwarder with logs and saved the game. When I opened the game the logs were a jumbled mess with several of them hanging mostly off the back! This is NOT how I left them. I had to unload most of the logs just to reload them. If this happens again I am going to say I got screwed and go on to something else. 6. I have had the cursor lock up in the store page and have to kill the application to get out of it through task manager. A couple of times I had to pull the plug on the PC. 7. I have had multiple instances of the breaks on the Skidder, semi truck, pickup and trailer dragging so bad that the vehicle would hardly move. The only thing I could see to get out if it was to sell the vehicle and buy another one. This is a little costly and a waste. 8. There are so many bugs in this game it is not worth my time to get proficient at it. It is going to be in my dust bin unless they come out with a major update (there hasn't been one for more than 14 months at the time I wrote this). My advice is to wait until there is a major bug fix update.
Great game i have played over 100 hours in a week love it i highly recommend this game feel free to add me and ask any questions before buying
Abandoned game. It's a shame, seeing how this game had potential, but all I can see right now is a game that's been abandoned for over 2 years with no updates, riddled with game breaking bugs, and with little to no support.
If you love to see some tree felling THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY! Somehow somewhat though you can just cut down trees.
