TL:DR: It's a good game BUT if you don't know what you're getting into, this might be a rough journey.
Good :

Combat system, with interesting synergies, builds, customization and incentive to master it.
Quick game, I finished it 3 times, taking my time on my first and second playthrough and I have 10h as of writing this review.
Accessibility options in the form of "infinite stamina/charge/etc" options.
Sound. Globally fits the game, especially the combat, adds so much weight to the hits, the necessary juice.

It depends

Visual style, I don't know what half of the things depicted were supposed to be. Although the style fits the theme and is used in smart ways, it sometimes feels lazy.
Thematics. This game is dark and tortured with hints of beauty. A bit cliché, a very personnal story, even though its writing can be pretty, it feels amateurish.
The corruption system. I personnally liked it and reached track 8 with <10% as it pushed me to "git gud". But I can see how it could be an obstacle.

Bad

Auto targetting can be janky.
Cannot pause in some sections.
Cannot skip some dialogues/scenes, harmful when retrying bosses and in NG+ playthroughs.
The travel system. With how the game looks and how the story doesn't explain anything, how are you supposed to know where these lead ?
Game balance, some options are way too strong.
Some bosses get slapped so easily, gets back up and does the same thing again, and you gotta slap them again, and it takes roughly 10mins.

Conclusion
LUCAH is a good game, you should try it if you like hack'n'slash / souls-like stuff. IF you're sold on the art style AND the thematics AND you can bear with a bit of jank here and there AND you're up for a bit of a challenge AND you don't mind a cryptic story

Special game that have special place in my heart.
sooo much yapping, the movement feels icy, the combat is slow, you only get 1 heal, the enemies have a bunch of health, you parry by rolling into attacks... yeah, that did not work for me, "game design"......
Khé?
this is the first game that feels like i'm the specific target audience. Incredibly helpful and therapeutic for someone with night-terrors, psychosis, schizophrenia. One of my favorite games of all time. The music score is incredible and the art is straight out of my sketchbook
Lucah gets a solid 8/10 from me. I'm reviewing this having just finished Death of a Wish, which I strongly feel improved on (almost) everything this game started. Lucah is a beautiful game and something I'd recommend every LGBTQ+ gamer to play, because for all it's flaws, it's still a unique, satisfying, and deeply heartfelt game worth experiencing. Incredible soundtrack, combat is unlike any hack & slash/soulslike I've played and it is CHUNKY. Landing a combo feels like living through anime impact frames. The visuals are stunning but there's so much going on it gets too difficult to tell what's happening during combat later on, and with a punishment system as intense as what this game puts you through, it does impact the experience negatively a bit. The game gives you a lot of modifications you can apply to essentially make sure you get through to the ending you want, and it's nice to have that option, but it does feel like it's there to offput an existing balance issue as much as it's also there for accessibility. The story of this game is abstract but phenomenal, and I won't say anything else about it.
extremely satisfying souls-like dungeon crawler with a heavy story about identity, depression and belief. The combat is super satisfying
A game filled with heart. You can tell that the people who worked on this cared about the project. It's got some sharp edges, but is much better than it has any right to be. Grab it, go for the relatively quick 6 hour playthrough, you won't be disappointed.
Frustrated beyond belief with this game I really wanna play it but the controls do not function on my Xbox One controller Every button works EXCEPT moving D-Pad doesn't function, Left Stick doesn't work, Right Stick does nothing either I've scoured the forums, I've looked at the Itch IO page, NOTHING can help me I'm refunding, I'm sorry
Was instantly sold on the style, but it was not at all intuitive how and when I should be using the different weapon types and combinations. It didn't really seem to make much difference in combat no matter what I chose. Combat itself wasn't much fun either.
