Indie Pogo: Bouncing Alone in the Void
Oh, Indie Pogo, the game that promises to let you bounce your friends into oblivion but forgets to mention that you'll be bouncing alone most of the time. After an hour of bouncing bliss and bouncing blues, I can confidently say that Indie Pogo is like a lonely trampoline in the gaming universe - lots of potential for fun, but sadly lacking in playerbase, as there is none. Now, you might be wondering, what about when I meet my untimely demise in the game? Fear not, because apparently, death is no reason for Indie Pogo to go bananas. It's only when you succeed in sending your friend into the great uknown that the game decides it's had enough and throws a digital temper tantrum. Where did he come from, where did he go, I have no idea, but whenever I kill my friend in an actual match, the online fight crashes. Just like that. Poof. I was unable to even finish a match. Shame. And then there's the game's price. $15 for this bouncing bonanza? I've seen cheaper trampolines at a yard sale, and at least those come with the guarantee of physical exercise. I'd be more willing to part with my hard-earned cash if there were actually people out there to bounce with. But alas, it seems Indie Pogo is content with being a solitary bounce-a-thon. I could buy a second copy of Dome Keeper with that money (on sale).
TLDR Indie Pogo is a bouncing adventure that's more like a solo trampoline session in an abandoned warehouse. The mechanics are fun, the trollface taunts are amusing, but the lack of players and the crashy online matches make it feel like you've paid $15 for a one-way ticket to Bounceville, a place where your only company is the echoing sound of your solitary jumps. Save your money and invest in a real trampoline or Dome Keeper, which is a phenomenal game worth your time. Unlike Indie Pogo.
Peanut out.

every fighting game ever should have lilac from freedom planet in it this is non-negotiable
A collab game with an unnecessary gimmick. Nothing more to say. Can't imagine playing it for any longer than an hour, and it's pretty easy to see why this game flopped so hard. Try Fraymakers or Rivals of Aether instead.
Remembered this game recently after logging onto Kickstarter to see I was a backer. This game is a fun bout for an hour or two but after that you've seen all the depth and fun you could possibly get out of it. The strongest positive this game brings to the table is letting you know Jack the Reaper exists and the "demo" for that game is amazing in itself. This game's gimmick was rebalanced a few times but it really feels like a neutered smash bros in more ways than one, the reliance on hopping + heavy hits results in unsatisfying gameplay. As it stands many years later it still just "misses" the mark for me, I love the character choices overall but that isn't enough to save a game like this for me.
Gracias bandana, gracias indiepogo. Chau skullgirls, hola indie pogo.
its like if a plat fighter was extremely boring and zero fun at all. maybe one of the worst games ive had the displeasure of playing ever
Indie Pogo is untraditional, but excels at what it's trying to do. Because of the position the game is in, it's easy to recommend, but makes it hard for me to suggest staying with. I hope the remaining cast comes in soon!
For at least the crossovers and interest given by other developers, I must give this a thumbs up. Weird AF platform fighter, I could never get my grips with but I respect it and I certainly respect Lowe Bros for their attempt and random approach. Give it a try/bash you may enjoy. I'm sure I'll personally come back to it for more local games at some point.
