Looks Good

I enjoyed the heck out of A Little to the Left, and have been hoping for a "copycat" or similar kind of game to come out. Looks Good is by no means a full-blown success, but when the devs did something right it really hit the spot. The devs mimic the cute graphics of Unpacking, adding their own flair and music, and I like the idea of books as chapters to play through. I particularly liked the book "Put Them Right", and honestly would have been perfectly content with a game including just those kinds of puzzles. The "Food Journal" was also quite nice. I was, like many others, thrown off by the last book - the math one... not only does it feel out of place (not to mention clunky with the manual placement of the numbers), but it really took away from the casual organization that made this game so appealing to begin with. I'd say for the price, I'm satisfied enough, but I'm certainly left wanting. I'm giving the game a positive review in the hopes that the devs continue to make games like this or even add more "Put Them Right" kind of content to this one. I have to say the mixed reviews are valid and warranted here, but if you enjoy the well-made bits enough this game could totally be worth it.

After seeing that one set of puzzles is just math - immediately wanted a refund. Like why. For context, one level is multiplication. I wish I was kidding. Some puzzles are genuinely fun (knight, food themed). But the ones that don't have hints, just a solution - meh.

It features various art styles and gameplay, including organizing, storing, arranging, and puzzles. Each book in the game has a theme, and players need to stack and arrange scattered objects. The early chapters are cute and enjoyable, but the difficulty varies greatly between levels, which is kinda unsatisfying. You would expect them to get harder the further you progress. Unfortunately, the last chapter/book, "Math," is so poorly designed that it ruins the whole game. Maybe just skip the whole last book if you don't like Math. While the concept and initial chapters show promise, the inconsistency and disappointing final chapter make "Looks Good!" a frustrating experience.

I expected something as satisfying as A Little to the Left, but the puzzles in this game get a little frustrating.

Cute little puzzle game. It doesn't compare to Unpacking or A Little To The Left, but it is a good game in it's own right
