I like the look and feel of the game, and the fusion/word puzzle aspect is a fun twist, even though there's not much substance to it. But playing this after 100%ing the Mario Picross games for Gameboy and Super Famicom, I'm finding it to be pretty tedious and comes off as being overly difficult for difficulty's sake. Too many boards are plagued with needle in a haystack situations where there's only one block you can safely pick at a time, which requires the repeated obsessive counting of every row and column, and not giving the satisfaction of rapid progress when you do find it. There are almost no large clusters of blocks near the edge of boards to give you an immediate springboard to start working off of, something that was fairly common in earlier Jupiter nonogram games. Puzzle difficulty is really uneven and hard to gauge, a Rank 2 board could take almost an hour and then a same sized Rank 5 might take less than 10 minutes. The music isn't bad, but the BGM tracks other than the defaults are more distracting and not as good, so hearing the same music all the time gets monotonous. I dunno, it's more of a sideways thumb for me. It's not bad, but I'm just not really enjoying it that much and feel like what enjoyment I'm getting from it isn't keeping up with boredom/frustration tolerance. I've spent over a hundred hours on other Jupiter games like Mario Super Picross, but I think I'm kind of done with this one already.
If you want Picross in the Jupiter style, and you don't want it on a Nintendo platform, this is a great way to get it
I spent more time doing Picross puzzles than playing other games the past month. Game is addicting.
Best nonogram game I've played so far. I've spent 33 hours already and the game still has tons of levels left to solve. What makes this game unique is the mechanic of combining elements you got from previous puzzles to create new puzzles, and it really help refreshing your mind after each level! The control can be switched between keyboard and mouse. And both run very smoothly I must say. About the difficulty, you start with 5x5 nonogram, and it will increase gradually to 10x10, 15x15, 20x15, etc. I feel like this game is more difficult than other nonogram games I've played. Many levels require advanced technique to solve and many times there will only be 1 row/column that contain clues to move on. The final boss has 40 width size so don't expect to finish this game within little time like a breeze. Anyway, the game has 3 options of hints to help you clear the levels easier so it's still not so stressful to do big sheets. Don't forget to turn it off in setting if you want to farm all achievements. If you love nonogram in general, definitely a game worth your try. Over 300+ levels with decent difficulty, maybe 60+ hours of gameplay: what more would you want?
Game starts in a tiny window that isn't resizable (the resize button is greyed out). When I resize it with alt-enter, it resizes, but the UI is flaky. Sometimes selecting a tile doesn't work at all. Sometimes selecting a tile changes the tile above it, not the one I clicked. The official support site is Japanese-only.
Cute logic puzzle game - still waiting for some more challenging puzzles, but it's a good game for multi-tasking right now
演出が遅い 新規パズルを出すのにトンチをやらされる パズルの出来が微妙。仮定法を使わないという触れ込みだから買ったのに使わないと進めない問題が多い 確定列のアシストも確定できていないのに青くなることが多数
This is literally just picross, so if you like picross, then you know what youre getting. If you've never played picross, and you like puzzle games, I heavily recommend this. The sense of accomplishment you get from slowly unravelling a huge puzzle is like nothing else
