While i do love to play as Majima again, and this game not being necessarily the worst game ive ever played i aknowledge that this game has alot of issues and i for one cannot take this game seriously as a entry in the Yakuza franchise. Aside from the RGG classic of reusing maps(this time hawaii and all its minigames) Pirate Yakuza presents itself as a Shonen whimsy fairy tale-esque story. While Yakuza has had supernatural elements in its past, it was never something incorporated in the main story which created this cool contrast between serious crime drama and goofy side content. Pirate Yakuza story feels like THE SIDE CONTENT STORY OF A YAKUZA GAME! It has very goofy elements and plots, including the supernatural, fantasy pirate culture in 2026, and nonsensical stuff. Seriously this game feels like a fever dream. I wont deny its fun in some aspects. This is probably the best iteration of the Mad dog of shimano style we got and i personally enjoy it. Sea dog style is mainly to kill a bunch of enemies which comes up often due to the horde nature of some fights in this game. The game just like gaiden is a bit short which is not inherently a issue however, it again glaringly uses its side content as main story forcing it down our throats to pad out the game since it doesnt have enough quality content in the main story. Again another obscure crime-den coliseum has a heavy role in the story! If you turn your brain off and disconnect this game from the rest of the series you can certainly enjoy this game, me personally i just dislike how whimsical it got since the yakuza series has always been grounded and used whimsy usually exclusively to combat elements and not the whole story. Underbaked game for sure but again i do like playing as Majima just wish it was a more well-crafted game.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I am a simple person. If you gave me the following, your game gets a 10/10 no questions asked: 1. Playable Majima 2. DMC-esque hack-and-slash 3. 𝚂̶𝚊̶𝚍̶ ̶𝙳̶𝚘̶𝚐̶ ̶𝚘̶𝚏̶ ̶𝚂̶𝚑̶𝚒̶𝚖̶𝚊̶𝚗̶𝚘̶ Lord of the Night, Goromi and Everyone's Favourite Idol on Dragon Engine 4. Fun gameplay regardless of paper-thin plot. Jokes aside, the premise of the game was ridiculous enough so i don't expect any groundbreaking storytelling. It's just a silly and fun game where we finally get to play as Majima and this game scratched that itch. I'm still in Chapter 2 but it's been a while since i've had this much fun.
Pros: Good storylines. Nice mini games as always. More people to recruit. Massive team battles compare to Like a dragon gaiden. Cons: This game is crashing every 30 minutes. Sometimes it would crash during the cutscene which kills the joy. This game has a compatibility issue with nvidia app.

“Every time I see you play this game, I see no pirates in it,” said my roommate. I would’ve told her that farming happens on land, not at sea, but I was a little busy being neck-deep in Dragon Kart, running crazy deliveries, photographing absolute creeps, and getting emotionally kidnapped by romance cutscenes. Didn’t help that I somehow turned Majima into bbno$ on the streets and a bargain-bin vampire in a goofy hat while captaining what can only be described as the pinkest otaku fever dream of a pirate ship ever to touch water. Also, I still can’t believe Ichiban managed to be more unhinged than the Mad Dog himself, but here we are. And yet, somehow, it works. The game is chaotic, ridiculous, and then suddenly… soft? Reflective, even. In a series built on found family and brotherhood, this one hits when you least expect it. Probably because you’re 60, starting fresh, and somehow more flexible than a circus acrobat. And somehow, I found myself being mushy over the friends we found along the way treasure, that was worth nothing monetarily but priceless in experience. Which I expeditiously used to maximize the pain I inflicted upon the poor NPCs that I didn't convinced to join my circus. Huhu, if you're reading this, thank you for your contribution to my game coffers, you get the stamp of Legend of the sea in my map. ✧。٩(ˊᗜˋ )و✧*。
While I was busy playing Yakuza games in order, I had my eyes on this entry, and I'd always said how this game is a crime against Majima's fine-writing character. I'm certain it is the most fan-service entry of the whole franchise, but man, it was really fun! Nevertheless, I still have my complaints about the wasted potential of Majima's own standalone entry, and I believe he deserved a way better game, given how unfairly he's been treated in the history of the series. RGG Studio finally lent an ear to fans and gave out a Majima-alone game, but their approach was not very... Not good enough, anyway. Yes, I had my fun, and I really enjoyed playing as Majima in this game, but my thirst for a serious, well-written plot concerning how rich his backstory and personality are was not quenched at all. If they'd given us Majima Saga as a long, standalone game like Kiryu's Gaiden, then this entry would be very nice and entertaining; but it feels like they brought a Dead Souls/Ishin/Kenzan-level game into the mainline, naming it Majima's Gaiden. It was good fan-service stuff though, so I'm taking it easy this time. There are a few things I feel like I must mention: 1) All chapters of the game are named after classic literary works with a sea-voyage theme, and this tiny, brilliant detail just sent me to the moon! 2) Since he's got amnesia, it would be better if they switched Majima's accent back to Tokyo (he deliberately chose to speak in Kansai dialect when he joined the Tojo Clan in his twenties). 3) His character didn't change enough. We all know the Mad Dog is an act, so amnesia most likely should have reset his personality back to his youth, before his change of character. 4) Exploring Honolulu now is much more convenient, and you don't have to get off the street surfer to grab things on the ground or say "Aloha" to friends you've spotted on the way. 5) This game suffers from a huge lack of voiced lines in its side content, and what a shame, alas truly. 6) They granted us a father-child relationship similar to Kiryu and Haruka's, and it was genuinely adorable. A daughter would suit Majima even better than Kiryu, but Noah is more than enough. Hanging out with him is nice, and Goro is one hell of a companion! 7) The game is basically a loose adaptation (or "appropriation," in the more technical sense) of the Pirates of the Caribbean, particularly the third movie, and as a fan of the series, I was utterly entertained by the game. Overall, I give it a thumbs up and recommend it to both fans of the franchise and newcomers, for exploration and mini-games are fun, combat is super cool, and Goro Majima is the best boss/captain ever to play as! Don't forget the "Captain" before his name, savvy?
