Goro Majima crashed into my house with his pirate ship and told me to 100% this game or else he'd plunder my booty with his blunderbuss

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I have only played some of Yakuza 0 before jumping into this so don't mind me. Majima has always been the one reason I wanted to get into the Yakuza series. He is extremely charismatic and wacky so the fact he got such a ridiculous spin-off game for himself was no surprise to me (at least from an outsider's POV). I don't generally like pirate themed stuff but I enjoyed those aspects in this one. Ship battles, recruiting people and treasure hunting was really fun (although I wish islands were more free to explore rather than dungeon-like). Despite everything else that happens in the game I found the main plot the most ridiculous of it all even though they were trying to play it to be serious... I didn't like it at all and just wanted to keep exploring and wandering Honolulu. Lol I had tooons of fun with the side stuff! If it wasn't for the main plot I would have rated this higher. This game made me want to try mainline Yakuza again and spend more time with Majima.... and I guess Kiryu
Majima's weird pirate adventure is fun BUT are the waters it's treading deep or shallow? PROS: ★ Pirate's Coliseum. It's underground coliseum but for your ship and your crew. Highlight of the game and hella' fun. ★ Hawaii's Honolulu hub recycle BUT it is a big place to explore. Also, almost all minigames from 8 are present which is another highlight of the game (i.e. dragon kart, perv pictorial, food delivery, etc) + Substories are still really fun, memorable, and did I mention fun? Well, almost all of them are but I forgot how good these substories are. There's even a dedicated dating one for your first m8 and it's funny as ♥♥♥♥. + Character Customization - one of the few modern addition that I can get behind to. Introduced in Gaiden and as far as I know, should stay on the upcoming games. Why didn't I rush the Luffy outfit was beyond my understanding. + Works well on my rig and with the deck HIT OR MISS: ? Seafaring Elements are a mixed bag of pros and cons: *arcade-y and janky *no upgrades to ship speed throughout the game *camera angle is way off and you can't see much in both seafaring cameras * no real exploration in sea; instead, game shows key points / areas in map for you to go to * deck exploration was actually really good though; you can basically do anything you can do on land while not in combat. (i.e. camera selfies, talking to crew, and you have added captain functions like hosting a feast, giving gifts to crew, mini farming) You can't jump out into the open water though ? weakest story of the franchise and thought in the beginning that it was a character assassination for Majima. Rushed through the story after exploring all that the game offers. That said, after finishing the game, the ending was tacky BUT was the reason the story went from a CON and into the HIT OR MISS section. Last bit before the epilogue became a literal Filipino classic lol but you can tell Majima will really do those things. ? The pirate land hub didn't have anything fun in it except for the Pirate's Coliseum ? Melee combat was meh: You had two choices, classic majima and pirate majima which has different movesets. Classic majima is always welcome BUT they could've done more with the pirate moveset. Feels off sometimes and I just end up switching to classic anyways because it's the better choice to kill mobs. CONS: - Relationship dialogue while exploring the open world is just white noise. I know it's meant to deepen their relation ship but it's extremely boring ♥♥♥♥. Guaranteed everyone skipped this. - Phone menu is just part of the main menu lol. I don't get it, why didn't they just put the phone menu features inside the main menu? - Color grading is WAY off. Makes everything look like plastic or against the light. I think it also has this problem in Kiwami 3. - Grenadier enemy crew stun locks and steam rolls your boarding party. - sound design was cheap for LAD: Pirates especially for the sword sound effects lol. Game is fun as hell BUT if you're looking for a character progression for Majima inside the Yakuza universe, you're looking at the wrong game. Fun is all that LAD: Pirates has to offer for Yakuza fans. Barely got in BUT I have to recommend LAD:Pirates, preferably on sale, especially if you've played Yakuza Infinite Wealth since you've explored half the game already. 2.5/5
Overall a big disappointment for me coming from one of my favorite game series. It's a shame because I actually liked a lot of this game, the combat is really fun and the ship system had potential but overall felt underbaked. The big problems with this game are the instability and performance. I crashed about 2-3 hours into literally every play session I had, and none of the settings I changed or programs I uninstalled helped. The game also looks TERRIBLE compared to Infinite Wealth and other recent LaD titles, the lighting and saturation is absolutely screwed. As for the crashes, I couldn't even finish the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game because the final sequence is so long and crashed several times. I had to watch the final cutscenes on youtube. Overall between this and K3, RGG is having a string of really disappointing showings that I really hope will be rectified in Stranger Than Heaven, but at this point, I'm not confident.
One of the best pirate games there is, specially because how silly it is. What's not to love about a 60 year old anmesiac LARPing as a pirate in the Year of Our Lord 2024? For some reason, RGGS gave us something better than any AAAA game.
I am a simple person. If you gave me the following, your game gets a 10/10 no questions asked: 1. Playable Majima 2. DMC-esque hack-and-slash 3. 𝚂̶𝚊̶𝚍̶ ̶𝙳̶𝚘̶𝚐̶ ̶𝚘̶𝚏̶ ̶𝚂̶𝚑̶𝚒̶𝚖̶𝚊̶𝚗̶𝚘̶ Lord of the Night, Goromi and Everyone's Favourite Idol on Dragon Engine 4. Fun gameplay regardless of paper-thin plot. Jokes aside, the premise of the game was ridiculous enough so i don't expect any groundbreaking storytelling. It's just a silly and fun game where we finally get to play as Majima and this game scratched that itch. I'm still in Chapter 2 but it's been a while since i've had this much fun.
The best pirate game I've played period. This is what a videogame should be in the late 2020s. Lots of interesting side quests, great characters, not too focused on ridiculous graphic nonsense but looking decent. Great music, tons of extra content, minigames galore, even in-game emulation, engaging gameplay, easy to pick up, satifying at every button press. It's not a huge open world, but the map is big enough to feel like a whole archipielago with dozens of treasures hidden here and there. This proves games don't need to have ridiculous filler, just good side quests and content in a normal map. I became a fan of the Yakuza series automatically with this one, now I'm decided on playing the earlier games.
