About

Lightning Katana is a fast-paced action FPS with hype parries, and even hyper combos inspired by the likes of Hotline Miami, Doom Classic, Katana Zero, and Devil May Cry.
Slash, Parry, Shoot and Dodge Roll your way through the Neo-Nippon Yakuza to avenge your pet Dogsuke and take on the top brass and baddest hit squad in all of Neo Nippon, the Ryujin Ichizoku!
Featuring:
Always be moving with quick dodge rolls and perfect parries to slash your way through the Neo-Yakuza stronghold. Hesitation can mean death, and you go down almost as fast as your enemies, so be careful as a well placed parry is the only way to recover health.
Defeat empowered enemies to temporarily gain their abilities. Shoot a powerful lightning bolt that fries anything in its path, or ride the winds of Fujin to slice through any yakuza that stand in your way.
Chain together kills to earn S, SS and P ranks in each level and earn Schmunny to buy new levels, or try your hand at Gauntlet Mode to earn Bones for some decorations in the Hub.
Each level is hand-crafted with a different mechanic or idea in mind, be it slicing through as fast as you can with an array of well timed abilities, or kicking molotovs into your enemies' faces. See if you can master them all for the illustrious P-Rank!

Man this game is a blast - super fun retro graphics, tight trigger-finger gameplay and really satisfying combos. The animations are crisp and it's got a nice tongue in cheek energy - it doesn't take itself too seriously while being a toooon of fun. I can see replaying these missions a couple dozen times to try to hit that S rank - so far I've been averaging A and I'm looking forward to playing more.
Love the game! From the finger guns to the epic music to the cute doggie shopkeeper, this game is very aesthetically pleasing and pretty fun. Also nice shout out to the Caribbean with the final boss!
My Playthrough : https://youtu.be/U3VI3Mmp1Es Overall: 8/10 • Great game, but unfortunately, I lost all my progress after a crash. Stability: ?/10 • I crashed three times in 30 minutes, and the last crash wiped all my unlocks, forcing me to start over. This might have happened because the final crash occurred during the basic course after I had unlocked everything except the finale. (I was trying to get an easy S rank to unlock the final course.) Graphics: 9/10 • Fantastic, but the start menu looks bad compared to the actual game. • The shooting stage feel weird and low-quality compared to the rest of the game. Controls: 10/10 • Intuitive, responsive, and easy to understand. Gameplay: 7/10 • I wish I could use abilities more often. • Feels a bit short—I unlocked almost everything except the final stage in 30 minutes. • Surprisingly, I didn’t experience motion sickness despite the fast-paced action. • Enemy variety is lacking—I've only seen 4-5 different types, and it gets repetitive after a while. • There's no real incentive to aim for an S rank aside from unlocking the final course.
Fun and engaging with a nostalgic arcade feel. The level layouts are consistent allowing you to take a speedrunner's approach to trying to kill every bad guy while also finishing the level in as little time as possible. Well put together and well worth the price of admission.
Remember the original doom? Now imagine you have a sword.
Run the gauntlet o.o
when I first played this game I was hooked onto the fast and flowing combat and silly visuals; seeing the game come to fruition over the past few months has been really fun!!! glad to have been a part of it, can't wait to grind for P ranks and earn a fair 100%~!
If you like doom and you like parries, dodge rolls and samurai, this is the game for you
This game was fast, challenging and overall a blast to run through. 👏👏 Right out of the gate, the game throws you into some chaos with fluid movement, parries, and abilities. The level progression between floors is also pretty intuitive, letting you tackle challenges at your own pace while still pushing you to improve. There's mixes of different game play as well as learning new moves/mechanics with various rooms. There's some tough levels I cant beat for SS rank just ~yet~ but its definitely a grind style of play.
this game is a lot of fun. in the beginning it felt difficult because i was dying fast, but once i got a hang of the controls i was ripping through enemies and doing cool combos. the pace of things increases as the game goes on which is nice and makes it feel exciting during the tougher levels. the final boss was actually difficult, and i found myself returning to all the previous levels to get higher scores/rank
