In Life is Strange: True Colors, you take on the role of a young woman, Alex, that has just arrived at a small, idyllic, mining town in Colorado to reunite with her brother after spending the previous 8 years in a group foster home. Alex has the ability to sense the emotions of others and at times can feel exactly what they feel. This effectively gives her the ability to read minds, which gives her a bit of a leg up when it comes to interacting with other people. At its core, True Colors is effectively a melancholic walking simulator with character interactions and the occasional choice that affects the narrative in small ways. Much of the enjoyment for me was found interacting with various objects throughout the scenes and listening to Alex's thoughts. The overarching plotline is a little on the cliche side and the twists felt a bit too telegraphed; I wouldn't recommend plowing through just to finish the main storyline -- it's arguably the weakest part of the game. With the exception of one character, I thought the voice acting was very well done and the graphics and music are also pretty good. Overall, I liked Life is Strange: True Colors, particularly the characters and while the overall plot is nothing overly compelling, I did enjoy this game, even if it was a bit sad at times.
i didn’t like the story at first but it really comes around toward the end. still not as good as the original life is strange but this was surprisingly deep and enjoyable!

Life is Strange: True Colors is a beautiful, quiet experience that stayed with me more than I expected. It didn’t hit me as hard emotionally as the first game, but there were still moments where I just paused and thought, “Yeah… this is why I love this series.” Alex is a really well-written character. She feels human, with emotional edges you can actually feel and her story resonated with me a lot. The game looks gorgeous, the soundtrack is exceptional. Overall Not perfect, but definitely special.
