Life is Feudal: Your Own is one of the most frustratingly brilliant games I’ve ever played. There’s nothing else quite like it. The way you can shape the land itself — not just place buildings, but actually dig, flatten, carve and mine — gives it a level of realism and ownership that most games don’t even attempt. Every swing of a shovel or pickaxe matters. Progress is slow, sometimes painfully slow, but that’s exactly why it feels meaningful. When you finally look at a piece of land you’ve shaped or a structure you’ve built, it genuinely feels earned. That’s where the magic is. This isn’t a game about instant rewards or ticking off objectives — it’s about creating something real over time. You’re not a hero, you’re just someone trying to build a life, and that grounded feeling is what makes it so immersive. But at the same time… it’s rough. The bugs, the clunkiness, the occasional weird behaviour with terrain or building — they’re impossible to ignore. You can feel that the game was incredibly ambitious, maybe even too ambitious for the tech behind it. At times it feels like it’s held together by sheer willpower, and that can be frustrating when things don’t work the way they should. And yet, despite all that, it’s still incredibly compelling. For me, the biggest draw is the terraforming and mining. Slowly carving out a space in the world, knowing it will stay that way, is something no other game has quite managed to replicate. That sense of permanence and effort is rare, and it’s what keeps pulling me back. Life is Feudal isn’t a polished experience, and it probably never will be. But what it offers — that feeling of shaping a world with your own hands — is something special. If it ever had modern polish and stability, it would easily be one of the best games ever made. Even as it stands, it’s a flawed but genuinely unique experience that hits in a way nothing else does.
Waste of money, really I don't remember why I even bought it One of those "THAT MMO IS GOING TO END ALL OTHER VIDIOGAMES" type of thing which development never goes anywhere for a plethora of reasons and then the game dies
Got it on 50% sale... Waste of money... If you love suffering in a survival game with no tips or hints, its perfect.... That's not my type of game though. The building mechanic is cool... But also why build a city if you cant have NPC villager slaves... Wish I could refund, but I tried too long to figure the game out before I rage quit...
If you're a hardcore fan of a great medieval sim, that gives 0 ♥♥♥♥♥ about your need to be coddled, then this is the game for you. Immerse yourself in a game that will give you a taste of what life was like during the medieval times. Games like this are only appreciated by hardcore gamers
Can't play it. I literally can't play it. It is a 10 year old game and just to start off I wanted to play by myself. So I have to run a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ server. Even though NOBODY else will be with me. As I understand it the game is poorly optimized and the same machine running a server and the game is resource intensive. It just stays on a loading screen. Absolute S H I T, Bit Box is the developer and they can suck my fat sack. Will be on the look out for this dev, if they even exit anymore.
Immersive gameplay, beautiful scenery, nice soundtrack, infinite...could easily lose track of time..
