Liberty VR is a standard wave shooter in which you can walk around in a limited area and which is set during an apocalyptic period from a fictional American Revolution scenario. Watch my first gameplay here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDhdqkekk_U The game isn't a bad game, but not exactly one I'd play again when I have other titles in my library that entertain me more. Manually reloading weapons and preventing the zombie hordes from getting you is the main goal, in itself it was entertaining for a while but you soon get tired of the challenge, I quit the game not because I thought it was bad but because it seemed from a certain point that you just can't be killed, or you run non-stop from the directions where you see zombies and keep shooting the zombies at the same time, or you are looking for a place where the zombies can't reach you, because they are there too!
Just finished playing a few minutes of this game and wanted to share my thoughts on it after playing it for about 10 minutes of 2 waves. Bare in mind this is still an early accees of the game so there's still a few bugs here and there. The game requires for you to shoot and run otherwise expect to get alot of damage. So practicing shoot, run and reload is a MUST! Gamers these days prefer semi autos so it may be a hard sell to hard core FPS players. This game has a slow start but once the melee starts you will feel the pressure and rush. This game has potential to be good and fun. There seems to be a bug which was addressed regarding no damage taken once hit on the body. Headshots is where it counts so you have to be sharp on your aim. Weapons seems to be loose where its easily dropped and you have to be precise on picking it up otherwise you will have a hard time trying to locate where it is once you drop it. Graphics and sounds are good but could add more detail. Orcs seems to move faster once they are shot. Not sure if the Dev has plans on making an adjusting that. Definitely has potential to be a good game as long as you can master the physics of shoot, run and reload. Devs may need to also implement another teleportation button on the right hand not just the left. Would I recommend this game? Sure but probably not for the average hard core FPS player that prefers semi auto weapons. Devs may need more time to work on some of the bugs so stay tune for refinement of this game!
An abandoned VR title, last community discussion thread is from 2017.
LIBERTY VR is an action adventure game
No it isn't. That is a blatant lie. There is literally one level, and you get to shoot and swing at 2 different types of green-skinned zombies that can either walk or run. Once you have eliminated a wave, another begins with a couple of more zombies thrown in the wave. You can climb on platforms, but the zombies can't. At this point the game becomes literally shooting fish in a barrel in one spot until you get bored.
Player will explore old Boston and its surroundings. And will encounter ancient ruins left by aliens and find unique weapons in addition to classic 18th weaponry.
Another Lie. There is no adventure, no Boston, no Aliens or ruins. Only a small level made of back alleys. The "action" is debatable at best. The dev has been promising to expand the game but looks like nothing has happened since. Do not buy this game.
The mechanics seem promising, graphics are good and the gameplay on higher waves is fun and challenging. If the developers keep up with good work, the final game could be a lot of fun.
So let me begin with saying I received this game as a beta tester. I spent some time in this game, some minor glitches I found and contacted the developers which pushed a fix in matter of hours, they are very responsive. Game play is nothing new, but the surrounding is quiet impressive, the amount of work put into this is visible. Since it's in early access I believe this game has a lot of potential if done right, In the menu I noticed they are preparing Story Mode which I'm waiting for. After game gets updated I'll rewrite my review.
Shows great promise. Nice graphics, gameplay a good fit for VR with some actions that couldn't be possible in a traditional played game.
Really wanted to like this game, graphics are good, but the physics in this game is terrible, the only liberty you get from this game is exiting. There is not much of a game right now, there are waves of orc zombies who attack you and even though they are wearing armor? has no affect on game play. Reloading in this game is unnecessarily complicated, and guns are not even effective. Hopeful that this game will have a campagin soon, as of now its just the worst wave shooter out.. could not make a more dull game. Oh and don't drop your weapon... or its gone forever
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
I got this on a bundle. Total price probably came out to like less than .50 cents. Honestly, there was another game in the bundle that I wanted so the real price is next to nothing because this was just a throw-in game. I've seen this on sale on Steam for about the same .50 cents. And that's how I'm reviewing the game. Is it worth .50 cents? It certainly isn't worth $7.99 normal price. When you start the game you're at the main menu. here are the options: Story mode - doesn't work "under development" yeah right! lol Endless waves - the only other option Options - doesn't work! hahahahahaha hahahah ahahahahah Exit game - works! So as you can see this game is abandonware. It's just a wave shooter. You can teleport around a very nice looking environment that has a decent size. There's weapons all around in plain sight. You can use melee weapons like swords or axes or shoot handguns or rifles. You have a buckshot pouch to reload weapons. The game ran smoothly for me and I experienced no bugs. The controls worked almost like the HTC vive wands in the tutorial. Unfortunately, I found that melee weapons aren't so great against armored zombies. And there's lots of armored zombies. You can three shot armored zombies with a pistol. Problem is that most of them are of the 1 shot variety. The easy solution is to find the 3 shot handgun that's upstairs in some room. Now you're ready for business. Problem is that there's only 2 types of zombies. An armored one and an unarmored one. Even though there's only 2 types of zombies, they can act differently. Some walk slow towards you. Some walk aimlessly about. Some walk normal speed to you and some run towards you. Just teleport around. Kill the fast ones first. Make sure you can reload your gun under pressure. It's easy enough after a while. The game is fun for about 20 minutes. Then it does get boring. There's just more and more waves of the exact same zombies. There's not really a whole lot to this game. This should have been free to play. I would have loved to seen the dev actually work on this game. There's potential here. But you know what they say about potential. Rate 4.5/10. Abandoned. Average wave shooter. Not good enough to charge money for it. If it had been free, I probably would have voted for a yes recommendation, but it's a no!
Completely abondoned. Low quality. Demo quantity (half the things on the main menu do not work - incl the story mode!). Silly price. AVOID. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1503756981
Action game, no adventure. Pretty meh with all of like 5 guns and 3 melee weapons, which all function similarly. 1 level in colonial america, with waves. 2 kinds of zombies. Your teleport run is much faster than they are. Biggest challenge in the game is the manual reload function, which is neat, except that the grip button picks up ammunition if your hand is near the bag, or it drops the weapon in that hand. Making this a much more frustrating experience when you just miss it and your gun goes flying across the room.
