I Am Caligula

Well.. i was given a key of this game by the developer but like always I never let those things effect my review. I Am Caligula follows the mad Emperor, Caligula, along with his sister, Drusilla. Since i know a bit history and i know he didn't rule Rome for long and was mad... This game didn't change the fact he is mad. So it ended up being a weird negative energy filled game that fast forward though this person's mad life in 96 minutes for me. You could probably blaze though it faster if u know where u going at the begining. It's rpg maker game and It does have a level and equipment system along with items. There is even a smith to improve your main character's spear.. problem is.. you can probably finish this game in less then 20 fights that none of the usual rpg charm is untilized... here is what i told the developer in chat. wany1981: 1. wany1981: pick a back story that's fun and enlighting with positive energy. wany1981: 2. wany1981: whether it's historical or fictional wany1981: make sure you have enough plot and character development wany1981: setup a story walkthough yourself wany1981: 3. wany1981: have a world map and have every town and city far away.. and make use of each location in plot to make them relevent. wany1981: 4. wany1981: voice acting is fine.. and uncommon plot such as brother love sister is fine.. just.. don't over do it wany1981: 5. wany1981: more planning.. more content before you release game.. u have to make sure it's ready.. wany1981: bad rep is a killer Right now .. i cannot recommend this game at all.. 3/10 would be my rating for this game. And I hope developer can improve on it to make a better game.

[h1] Gameplay [/h1] The game tells the story of Caligula, who was from 37 to 41 Roman emperors. Caligula's youth was shaped by the intrigue of the ambitious Praetorian Prefect Seianus. After the hopeful beginning of government, which was marred by personal blows of fate, the emperor increasingly exercised his rule as an autocratic monarch and, in high treason trials, had numerous senators sentenced to death by arbitrarily exhausting his office. His tyranny ended with his assassination by the Praetorian Guard and individual measures to destroy the memory of the emperor. Back to the game, so of course the story was supplemented with a bit of humor and has its own charm due to the setting, but this has been staged with intrigue and surprising twists and plays differently than other RPG maker games. With this you also learn some history.The music, cutscenes and voices of the character can be heard / seen and form a solid addition to other RPG Maker games, and you will rarely find them. Pretty nice project. It's got an interesting story and quests. Those who like history especially might find this curious and amusing. As this storyline is also based on real facts. I had much fun...

I Am Caligula is a game that I recommend because: - is a method to banish boredom - it has a good price - it is captivating - it is a relaxing game - it has a good soundtrack - it is an accesible game - it has a good storyline - it is a short game - it is better than the first one Enjoy!

I don't care that this game is only a dollar. This is, without a doubt, one of the absolute worst pieces of trash I think I've ever played on Steam. You get to play as the titular Caligula, the Roman emperor who lost his mind and had a thing for his sister. (You can even raid her dresser at the start of the game and acquire a pair of her panties; which you can wear as a helmet. Mmhm. All in all, this just seems like the developer was in a rush to get this piece of trash out. There are walk masks missing in areas, and you can walk over beds, for one example. The script is just... horrible. There wasn't any effort to get actual editing in there, and the resulting mess isn't even punctuation to help you understand the morass of text being spewed at you. You don't get to do much of anything- there might be one quest in the whole game that's not story-driven. Combat... well, it sucks. The few enemies you'll face in this game are completely unbalanced, and the battle screens are just a royal mess. There's some slight voice-over work in this- I mean, it a) didn't need it, and b) that money could have paid for an actual editor to fix some of the text problems- and it's surprisingly okay, for what it is. I don't honestly care if this game ends up on sale for even a quarter- if you gift this to someone, you're only inflicting pain. If you buy this for yourself, maybe figure out what you're punishing yourself for. 1/10, easily one of- if not THE- worst things I've ever played on Steam.
