TL;DR: a fun game with some minor hiccups that is a great value when it's on sale for $5-$10. Too long; did read: It's a little jank on PC (mostly runs okay, but if you tab in and out for a second monitor or go to a browser, it'll sometimes lose track of what resolution it should be when you come back is the main issue I've had so far), and the keyboard controls are somewhat unintuitive and jump around more than makes sense (to me at least) as you go through menus, but when you're actually running around shooting/lightsabering/force pushing stuff to collect things it plays fine and is fun, There are well over 1,000 collectables, so there's always something to wander off and do, and with all 9 episodes and a free play mode in one game, it feels like a pretty great value at the $5 sale price I got it for; more than $10-20 would start to feel a little steep but it seems like it goes for $5-$10 with decent regularity so that seems fair. It looks like there might be some overpriced character DLCs, so you may want to look into that more deeply before pulling the trigger if you are going to try to 100% literally every possible option, but so far that seems so wildly out of reach that it hasn't triggered my completionism drive and I doubt it will. I see this game as something to drop into and screw around a bit with when I have a few hours to kill rather than something to mainline, so at only ~6-7 hours in (ugh, I know, I'm so sorry, but that's how long I've been playing), I don't know if the gameplay loop would still be fun after the 100-200+ hours it seems likely getting all the blue blocks would take, but I definitely expect to enjoy the ~40 or so hours I anticipate it taking to do the main 9 movies worth of story and some wandering off to grab things that look shiny.
A nice remake/remastered updated edition of the "Lego Star Wars" series.
I never really enjoyed the sequels UNTIL NOW. This game does everything right about LEGO and Star Wars.
cool ninnnnny
Im pretty disappointed. Grew up with Lego Star Wars Part 1 and 2 on the ps2 and have some of the fondest childhood memories playing them with my friends. The Skywalker Saga just seems so rushed and mindless, it lacks the charm of the old games. Yes the hub worlds are big, but the levels are so short and the cutscenes are held so short, that one who isnt a star wars fan would have no idea what the game is about. Compare that with the complete saga, a game where they didnt even had voice lines and they still achieved a more cohersive story telling.
60% of the gameplay is walking from a to b and waiting for cutscenes
Very enjoyable Star Wars Lego game. Captures the humor of Lego as well as the sci-fi greatness of Star Wars. There are too many characters to choose from, but that is my own fault for purchasing the character packs.
hella fun
