Dream Quest, Desktop Dungeons, Slay the Spire - if you like those you'll probably enjoy this game! I'm loving it so far. As of this review there's plenty of bugs but nothing that ruined the game. If that bothers you perhaps wait a bit. edit 2023 November: I'm not encountering bugs any more and the dev has expanded many aspects of the game, making it even better. This game is the perfect chill roguelite and a solid 9/10
I actually beat this on my first run with a really fun build. Not managed it since, but just getting into the meta-progression and it's all quite cryptic, but very engaging.
Dungeons of Voidria is an interesting blend of traditional roguelike and JRPG-style turn-based combat. Though the majority of mechanics adhere to the tenets of traditional roguelikes, the novel combat, as well as a slick presentation, make this a worthy addition to your library. Dungeon traversal goes exactly how you'd expect: procedurally-generated dungeons contain loot, traps, enemies, and secrets in classical roguelike style. Progression per run is maintained through two chief mechanics: player XP/leveling and the amassing of a particular item used to progress the story itself. Upon leveling, you're gifted new abilities and spells to use on successive runs. It's a simple, tried-and-tried methodology that works well here.
Pros

Slick, pleasant presentation full of smart UI decisions, excellent sound design, and fun animations
JRPG-style combat infuses a new twist into a classic formula
Lots of interesting synergies between abilities and spells
Progression loop is simple but satisfying, and proper pacing makes each run feel impactful
Controls are simple to learn and easy to memorize

Cons

Combat can become a bit of a slog - turn-based nature slows down the gameplay loop
Tutorial screens are overwhelming and unhelpful - could greatly benefit from a slimming-down and streamlining
Movement could use a bit of smoothing out - diagonal movement feels clunky and overall navigation feels slow
Quicksave system is confusing - why does it boot me to the main menu afterwards?
Interesting abilities and spells can take multiple runs to acquire, making early runs feel homogeneous

Conclusion
Dungeons of Voidria is a well-executed, well-presented twist on the classic traditional roguelike formula. Though it can take a bit to get rolling and really understand its depth, once you hit a favorable stride, the gameplay loop is fun, well-paced, and will have you attempting a new run as soon as you've finished the previous. I will say the price is a bit high for a game in this style, so maybe wait for a slight sale. An interesting tactical roguelike with hints of deckbuilding (even if there aren't really any cards involved). I particularly appreciate its unique way of handling its mix of buffs, debuffs, skills, and spells.
The definition of a hidden gem, wow! Super fun and just deep enough, satisfying meta progression, and a great amount of content that makes runs feel unique. Hoping that this game makes it onto enough people's radar to justify the developer spending even more time on it. An instant classic for me.
I found this too complicated to be fun. So many stats and nothing is explained. It's a lot of complex mathematics and just not what I expected. Wished there had been a demo.
Even in EA, it's already fun. The mechanics of the skills and spells are an interesting mashup. I'm really looking forward to seeing where this game goes and am happy to support now.
very noice
This game is fantastic. Do you like nethack and slay the spire? Do you want a better UI for roguelikes? Do you like procedural generated dungeons and randomness? Play this game! Check out my Let's Play series of this: https://youtu.be/_x6Az1lfYSQ
This game is really difficult and incredibly frustrating. I love it.
