Last Epoch feels like a lighter version of Path of Exile 1 rather than a truly different ARPG. The graphics are also awful. The world, enemies, and effects do not give the game a strong identity, and a lot of it feels outdated or cheap.
Betrayal and greed
DEVs lied: about not pay walling the players in the future. dont trust them. dont trust me. look it up yourself.
Constant disconnects. Completely unplayable at times. Constantly need to re-clear areas and lose progress after a disconnect.
One of my favourite ARPGs, yet I'm giving it thumbs down. My biggest issue with the game is the campaign and its strict linearity, which for me had become a slog. I have zero appetite for trying out new stuff in the new season because I'll have to do the same things for ten hours that I've done numerous times already. Please transform the levelling process into an adventure mode-like style, as it is in D3.
Due to change in ownership the entire development goal of the product has changed.

They have still not yet finished the story/campaign, Achievements are still not in the game and a plethora of promised features have essentially been abandoned.

Krafton once again buying someones elses cake, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it into submission and then consuming it like a madman.
I am a competitive lover of ARPGs. I have ~8,000 hours logged between the Diablo franchise, POE, Torchlight, Grim Dawn, etc. I am not a stranger to the genre, and I am ecstatic that we are spoiled for choice with so many great options when the other game loops get boring. And in a world of forced online play, this game delivers everything with the added perk of being able to play offline; if you play SSF hardcore and aren't on board with this game yet then you are really missing out. I don't understand how people can be upset at this game. It's an absolute blast and the improvements on all fronts from season 3 to 4 are incredible. If you demand quarterly content releases and seasonal resets this is not the title for you. The pinnacle boss challenges designed in this game are easily the coolest and most interesting I've seen in an ARPG. The Uber Harbingers and Aberroth are some of the best designed challenges I've seen in the genre, they are a massively hard skill and gear check that I didn't realize could even be possible in this genre and still feel fair. According to the developers about ~1% of players are able to clear the pinnacle boss and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is it satisfying when you get there. 9 out of 10 game, would recommend to anyone who has enjoyed pushing competitively in any ARPG.
Last Epoch is pretty much ARPG perfection up until the very end game. Crafting gear required to beat the hardest boss essentially involves playing game after game of "Russian roulette" with the affixes on said gear. Yes it feels great to win the slot machine pull and slam that piece of gear that improves your build and corrupt it with a sick affix. But in between, you are going to come within an inch of that win, only to lose the game of roulette at the end by whiffing the slam, crafting the wrong affix in a slot, running out of FP, bricking an item via corruption, etc many times. Google a thought experiment called "rando chess" by Magic the Gathering creator Richard Garfield and you will immediately relate if you have ever attempted to craft high end gear. It's a shame because everything up until this point in the end game is executed near flawlessly.
