Worst part is that there's no level editor. Seriously, the game is too good for how short it is, and would absolutely thrive with a workshop
At the time of writing this review, Laser Attraction is still in early access, version 0.1.2. Despite this, the game feels very polished. This is a puzzle game that is very relaxing to play with varying levels of difficulty. The solution to some of the levels feel very intuitive while others are a bit more challenging. New mechanics are added periodically as the player advances through the levels, which nicely mixes up the gameplay. The background music is nice and soothing, further enhancing the relaxing feel of the game, however, the same track plays for all levels and does become monotonous after some time. This game can be completed within a few hours. To some people, this short game time may not be worth full price ($9.99). Personally, I feel that this game is of a high enough quality that it warrants supporting the developers by paying the full price.
Fantastic physics-based puzzle game, looks nice good mental exercise :D True to the nature of working with any actual optics, this game requires a bit of patience, planning and a steady hand to find the solutions, but feels so rewarding when you get it just right! One addition that would really be awesome, would be a built in Level Designer with Steam Workshop integration for creating and playing community levels! This would be fantastic to see, and would give essentially infinite replayability.
I actually found this game scrolling on a Imgur post. Looked like a really cool idea I've never seen before so figured I'd pick it up. So far I've done the first 15 levels and I've really enjoyed it. It's quite tough at times and keeps you thinking. Has good music too. A great puzzle game that's easily worth the money. Hope you continue development man great job!
When I saw this game for the first time, I was wondering how they managed to make good puzzles where each element can be smoothly moved and rotated. The answer is that they didn't. The solutions are incredibly fiddly. Multiple times I figured out the right solution and gave up on it because I coudn't place the elements just right. After testing many other ideas, I've reached for a hint and it turned out that one of my initial ideas was right. That was followed by trying to place all the elements in the exactly right places for a minute or two, which maybe doesn't sound like much time but it's much too long for a puzzle game and it gets tedious really fast. This would work much better on a grid with rotation done in discrete steps. I've enjoy the simulation aspect and accurate adherence to physic. You can learn a lot about how light behaves with mirrors, prisms and more. The graphics is nice and the music is OK. All of that, however, is not enough for me to recommend this game. This isn't a "never buy this game" review. I have no neatral button here but if I had, I would use it. You still may enjoy this game but you should know that it puts much more weight on the simulation rather than the puzzle side.
Fun and frustratingly challenging at times, deceptively simple at times, and fairly soothing background music. Fantastic puzzle game, highly recommend.
I have played several laser based puzzle games over the years, and Laser Attraction definitely hits the mark better than any other game I've seen. Incredibly fluid interaction and challenging puzzles. For an early access game, it's really remarkable the level of polish it has already. Looking forward to all future level and feature additions!
Quick Early Access Review: It's really quite challenging, but fun once you start to get the hang of it. I really overestimated my logical thinking about light-reflection.. :,) but I still manage to solve puzzles by tinkering with the available pieces. It's still Early Access, but here's some feedback! Music: I would change the music to something more electronic/ambient, it got a bit repetitive after a while. It's challenging, it's cheap, it will keep your cogs turning in your noggin'. Get it! ~Doom
Most relaxing experience. Fantastic music, clever puzzles, satisfying gameplay with lasers
A very fun and well executed puzzle game. Once the introductory levels are done, some levels are quite the challenge. I'm very excited to see what we'll get in the future. Great game!
