About
Explore a dream that refuses to end. As Zede Aksis, wander a surreal city that feels both alive and liminal, filled with digital citizens and absurd infrastructure. Can you find an escape? A way out of a world that remembers you better than you remember it?
Step into a city shaped by memory and code-- where the streetlights hum lullabies, and stairways spiral into forgotten neighborhoods. Escape from Lavender Island is an open-world exploration of the subconscious, a place where the unknown constantly unfolds before you. Every corner feels familiar, but nothing looks like you remember.
It’s a game about being lost in the in-between: the space between dreams and waking, between knowing who you are and who you might’ve been. As Zede, you collect fragments of language, art, and architecture that hint at a life outside the simulation-- but the deeper you go, the more the island reshapes to fit you.
The world itself is the story. The Lavender Corporation, an evil group from the mainland, works with an alien civilization to control the island and everyone who lives on it. To fight back, you'll accept missions, meet contacts, and find masks with different abilities.

I don't even know how to describe this game. And that is a good thing! It is not everyday that one can find a game as unique and surreal as this one. This is an open-world platformer? A modern art manifesto? A philosophical debate made video game? I have no idea, and I completed the game 100%! Nevertheless I fully recommend this game to anyone that wants to play something really unique. If you like games like Cosmo D's Off-Peak series, Jazzpunk, Broken Reality, or want to play something that is really out of the norm, get this game!
You know what? This game is pretty cool. The visuals may seem quite busy but you get used to it quickly as it is easy to navigate through the world thanks to the map clearly laying out all the objectives and collectables for you to explore, allowing you to enjoy playing the game as you see fit without worrying about losing your way. For that, you can easily complete the game quickly if you don't want to do any of the side stuff, but where is the fun in that where you can mess around with unique abilities like erasing part of the environment so you can go through it or making people vape in public? If you feel like wanting to take a nap for the day you can always load this game up and listen to some bizarre stories from the menu selections. Stories that sound weirdly normal if this world were any more weirder or aliens finally reveal themselves to us. For example, there was one story about a guy who didn't like to eat who one day spilt his peanut butter, jelly sandwich onto his keyboard at work. He cleaned it of course but not properly, in doing so his keyboard became home for a civilisation of bacteria hopping between dimensions to other uncleaned keyboards in the world. I'm so glad I'm not making this **** up. This game is just the right amount of a drug overdose leaving you still sane, which I can't believe I'm recommending. Definitely preferable to the alternative. P.S. If you feel like the achievements aren't working for you, spam z on the menu page. Thank me later but don't actually thank me, thank the developer.
good game, but I think the dev is just traumadumping
The music is decent, but morose. Everyone is sad and misguided. The art style is so ugly you start to love it. And it controls like it's straight out of the early 2000's. It is very creative and interesting and I'll probably be thinking about it years from now. I can't really put my finger on what it is about it, but it's good and I hope your developer does more games
This game just gets weirder and weirder the more you play it, and yet there seems to be a hidden logic to it that threads everything together. Its one of those things where you have to experience it yourself.
Creator of JEF makes Arkham City...in a way. I ended up 100% the game cause there was a ton to explore and be enriched by; I highly recommend this game (and everything else by this creator)! P.S. Achievements for 'all corporate secrets/concerts' seem bugged, but there is a failsafe : if they're in your achievements codex in-game, press "Z" five times on your keyboard in the main menu!
Interactive art that is both grounded and high minded. Highly recommend this for those that want a story and a fun platforming game.
I have now played all of Jeremy Couillard's games and this is by far the most involved. he makes very strange games but they are all very interesting, strange, and I think genuine. These games always have lots of stream of consciousness types of thoughts put into the game and a very unique art style. These are very much outsider art types of games that very causally and humorously touch on pretty taboo subjects and they dont have wide appeal. I love these games and will be supporting everything that this man makes if he retains the absurdist ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
is this what it feels like to be on acid?
