A true simulation, this is the closest thing you'll get to the real deal. I can't recommend this game enough. It will help you learn the basics as well as establishing some more general SOPs such as "don't try to terrain associate if there is no terrain" etc.
What is the pace count calculation? I assume it's the green number in the bottom of the screen and when they reset around 70, that is 100m. However, when I use this as the metric, i keep overshooting my CP by nearly double.
sick
If you want to learn land navigation, then this is the game. (Or Arma). But in the current state of the game, with only one map, a very clunky UI and a hefty price tag for what it is, I don't think I can recommend as a game in its current state. Lots of updates were promised in 2024 and have yet to be delivered which is a little disappointing. It is relaxing wandering around in the vast pretty woods and ravines though.
*Alex, could you please remove the tall grass camera pulling effect? It’s very disorienting and causes (for me at least) a vertigo feeling. Hard to play once I hit the brush line.* For $25, a good base game with a lot of potential. A great training program to keep land nav skills sharp when not in the field. I’m looking forward to seeing new terrains and custom character skins.
The Game isn't bad it will teach you how to shoot an azimuth, pace count, plotting points on a map, etc. as well as how to find where you are on a map however before you buy keep in mind that the game hasn't received any of the promised updates. (at least there's none in the update history) its a good tool to learn and practice but beware it comes as is. The discords dead and the people in the community tab will tell you the game is dead.
This seems like it is a solid start to a great virtual land nav trainer. Not sure if I was missing something, but I didnt find option to plot points.
it's not bad as its still in development Could use a video tutorial or simply a voice-over walking you through basics if your not familiar I read there's a string for azimuths on the protractor i couldn't get that to work at all so i had to eyeball it couldn't write in notepad got stuck on trees constantly, I get it its supposed to be like a real life example but im talking i walked up a tree standing on branches smaller than a pencil with no way down if we could fix the string thing fixed and the other small things its really fun way to stay ontop of your land nav skills with out having to go out and make a day of it
Fun, immersive, and learned a lot.
This is as realistic as it gets. This game is an amazing tool for anyone looking to practice landnav in real life. Although I recommend this game, I've noticed that this is geared more towards people that use degrees rather than mils. I recommend you use mils in actual landnav since its more accurate. There's a reason why artillery use mils and thats to get warheads on foreheads.
