Kyle is Famous: Complete Edition

I didn't really care for this. It revolves mostly around randomness-based humor, and despite tons of endings, the play-through is repetitive and gets stale quickly.

Funny dumpy man

Absolute masterpiece. The way it lets you commit any and all of your intrusive thoughts was amazing. Oddly covers body horror quite a bit and is absolutely hilarious. The true ending is wonderful, made me feel very happy to take Kyle on his journey.

An incredibly surreal and absurdist story generator with fully-voiced (and glorious) dialog and some well-produced visual effects. The engine is solid and it's engaging enough to keep your interest for a little while. If you were a fan of the old text adventure games like "Zork" or "Humbug" then the story presented here might appeal to you. A review isn't really necessary, just try it out through the free demo provided by the developer. The first 30 minutes will tell you everything you need to know and, if it resonates with you, the full version is $5.00 on sale. The novelty only lasts an hour or more, but it might be worth it to you depending on your budget and schedule. There's surely more narrated content written than a casual player can finish. An inquiring mind could explore for a very long time before ever finishing the original work, and then there's mods with more. On the whole, I liked most of the journey until it got repetitive and I give the author credit for writing one Steam's most eccentric and singular titles.

Very fun game with many hilarious endings, as well as the ability to create custom endings. Great purchase!

I thought the original version of Kyle Is Famous to be a pretty neat, wittily written puzzle game where you need information from multiple paths to find the good ending. In comparison, this extended edition adds nothing more than dumb jokes, pointless filler, and paths that don't really mean anything. Most of the new stuff is not well written, nor does it help build the world or tell you more about its characters. This isn't the first time I've had a demo turn out better than the original, but it's still a weird shame that it happened at all.

Fun and all, but worth the 10 bucks for the complete edition? You could probably squeeze everything out of it within the two hours and then refund it. That already should tell you what you need to know. Not that I'm saying you should. There is a free edition, which didn't used to be an option when I bought it (I think). Try it out and see for yourself before buying.
