Full disclosure: I was asked by the developer to give some feedback and suggestions to help improve the game. I do think the game is a lot better now than when I first started it up, but I also feel like there's a long way to go before this game is truly finished. This was version 1.4.0 and the game is still going through a lot of revisions. I also want to call out the fact that I think the game is kinda misnamed. I mean, it's called Keyboard warrior, and you do all your attacks by moving the mouse? There's a few times when you do need to press a button but I don't really feel particularly warrior-like. Lastly, I didn't spend a lot of time testing the campaign to this game. Most of my time was spent in the "Arena" survival mode of the game. Basically you should expect to defend the center of the screen from attacking enemies (in the form of little squares with faces on them) and occasionally some other enemy types. The squares are the most common though. The low level enemies have a weak point you can hit for extra damage but the stronger ones don't have the weak point so you just have to power through it. There's also a boss fight against a pair of evil red eyes (called "Osiris") and in a first (for me anyway) after you defeat the boss you have to choose the enemy powerup (WTF?). Yeah, You get to decide how the enemy gets stronger after you defeat the boss. It's a little weird. I don't really want them to be faster because I am usually already trying like crazy to keep up, and I don't really want them to be more healthy since I have enough trouble killing them off before they swarm all over me, so my only real option is to reduce the amount my special power meter fills after killing an enemy. Maybe you'll find the other options challenging, but that's up to you. In fact I doubt you'll get very far into the game at first without buying some of the upgrades from the store. I had to farm some points to get enough to increase my health and health regen to help make it farther into the game. There's also some other upgrades that will help keep the enemy at bay a bit longer, or an upgrade that can help you by slowing enemies down when they get too close. There's also an array of other upgrades that can help in other ways but I'll leave that for you to find out on your own. You do definitely get a feel for how the game progresses, but it's pretty rough at first and even after you get enough powerups to feel like there's a shot at winning, the game can be brutal in how quickly the enemies swarm over you. Hopefully the developer will keep working on improving the game, but it really has come a long way since the first version of it. So should you buy this game? Well, if you like supporting indie developers and you enjoy quirky games with interesting or weird ideas, then yeah. You also kinda have to be into twitch gaming (and I don't mean streaming on twitch). There's a lot of fast reflex type action and if your an older gamer and maybe your reaction speed isn't what it used to be, then you're probably not going to enjoy this as much as some other games, but at least I feel like the game isn't completely unfair (though it does feel that way at times). So this is a thumbs up but a conditional thumbs up.
A great game for practicing aim in which we have to shoot quickly and accurately at the enemies coming at us. In between battles, use the upgrade menu to improve our combat abilities. The dynamic gameplay and pleasant visual style will test our speed and reaction.
Honestly, it's personally not my favorite game ever (I like being able to move around), but its defenitely very "indie" and worth the price. If you enjoy reflex style games you'd love this. Something to keep in your back pocket for a rainy day.
DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME if you hate not being able to move. This game is purely about aiming and clicking. Kindof like OSU but without the rhythm, but also as a defense game (if that makes sense)
Fun, dynamic, pretty well designed visually. For those who like to click.
Simple and yet challenging at the same time. -F-
《Keyboard Warrior :Dreamstate》
《Keyboard Warrior :Dreamstate》
The game can captivate you for a long time, it is very methodical and for its price. The game will be able to help in the development of reaction
I'm more impressed with the amount of work the dev has put into this game over the past few months, even with so few players. Defenitely deserves a buy just to support that kind of commitment.
It's definitely a unique game. I can't really think of anything else like it. Perhaps it's not the most groundbreaking concept ever, but if you enjoy twitchy/reflex type games you should definitely give it a try.
