boring
Superbrothers: Sword & Sorcery is one of the most unique experiences I've had with a video game. Jett could have been a breath of fresh air in the world of video games just like that game, but it isn't. At first it seems like it could be; it seems like one of those rare games that could be considered a true audiovisual experience like so many art-house films, because cinema isn't just about narrative but also about atmosphere and mood, more akin to games like Kentucky Route Zero than Disco Elysium. But in the end, we're talking about a video game, and playing this is boring, repetitive, and uninteresting; you don't enjoy it. While Sword & Sorcery understands that it doesn't have to try to cover too much ground and is a short but intense experience, this one has you looping the main gameplay as MMO-style side quests, endlessly collecting materials. You spend a lot of time without really knowing what to do, wandering aimlessly and without the transcendence of Sword & Sorcery. 5/10
A história é intrigante e misteriosa.
aggravating - yes thats what I felt playing this. The constant nagging from the npc crew and redoing of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ little tutorial got on my nerves.
certainly not for everyone and it is missing some polish. but the experience is top notch! Gotta say though that I feel like they should have somehow combined both The Far Shore and Given Time into one experience because then I think it would have been the perfect mix of Gameplay and Storytelling. The way it is now feels like The Far Shore is the cinematic introduction to the actual "game" that is Given Time. edit: thanks to Adam Hammond and his book "The Far Shore" for letting me look a this game from a different angle. I do wonder how the team looks back at Jett and its creation from the future .
Very good game! It's really fun jetting around and exploring. Interesting puzzles, exciting narrative and a moving sountrack.
Not the best game of this studio, the controls of the ship are clunky and unresponsive at best, and even if the gameplay make sense, it took me ages to understand what I had to do. I definitely liked swords and sworcery way more. That said, I did enjoy the second part of the game (A given time) much more than the first (The Far shore), it gives the impression that they wanted to make the second part first, but they knew they had to tell the player the story if they wanted to immerse them in the story. All in all, I think it´s an interesting game to play, you won´t find an experience like this anywhere else.
Jett is a bit of a strange thing, it's probably the most high-concept indie game I've ever played, and it has the goods to back up about 70% of what it's going for, mainly falling down in the mechanics (at least in the first campaign). It has a very interesting and fascinating combination of the mythic and abstract with somehow very grounded characters, and the sound work and track is jaw-dropping throughout. The confidence it's got in going for the huge scifi with a relatively moderate budget is really cool and it almost feels like one of those works that was made without concern for profit, just a thing that came almost-fully-formed out of an artist's mind, and I'm not sure there's a higher compliment I can pay a game. Worth checking out if you're into vibes.
