A refreshing interpretation of Point&Click game mechanics, combined with (space) exploration. Well crafted, with nice puzzles and fine graphics, too.
An interesting story is what I want from a game and this game gave it to me. Thank you! It was quite an experience playing it.
The game had a really good story and puzzles. It liked how it made me break out the pen and paper to write notes to keep track of the story. While this is strange for games today, I found it to be a good break from the norm and harken back to when I can notes and personal game strategies for each game I played. The game looks older, but it still plays like a new point and click adventure, and was well worth the price. The only slight negative is that the game is only in Full HD and there is a lot of screen tearing during the cut scenes, but this doesn't take away from the story.
Ive played dozens of these 1st person point n click adventures and can say the following: Good: - story - atmosphere and setting - interface (simple and effective; one click on objects, no inventory, but prompted to use items) - visuals (cinematics especially) - sound and music - decent length (not too short or long, no backtracking (although revisiting planets kept it interesting) Bad: - puzzles (run of the mill out of place mini games and no brain trial and error puzzles) - voice overs (except for the protaganist they are annoying; your standard computer and robot voices devoid of life) Overall: A solid point n click adventure with a decent story that will keep you interested until the end, the puzzles should have a SKIP button, so a walkthrough is recommended.
well what can i say, the game is now 9 years old and honestly it was worth every minute. the puzzles are challenging and interesting, only one puzzle frustrated me to the bone, but after finding the missing info, it was quite clear (note for the localization in german, the description of one puzzle has some issues, because it could be misinterpreted, which was my choking point for some time). the design, the graphics, the sound, everything was solid and well made. either endings have a sad touch, but in the vastness of space, what can you expect ;) For those, who love story and some puzzle solving challenges, i can recommend it, even after 9 years, this game has its charme.
I LOVED this game. At first, I thought it was boring af. Then I got into it an couldn't stop. Finished it in 2 days (5.5 hrs each est.) The puzzles are fairly easy - some require some random guessing and there is one (to open a door) that, I think, glitched, because I saw the answer for .5 seconds and could't find it again. I did have to cheat on that one. Otherwise, got it. I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoyed and Cyan game or Quern.
I'd say about the first 85% of the game is great. You're wandering around, exploring planets, putting together a story, with maybe a bit too much freedom but it still feels like you can progress at a good pace. The story is pretty obvious but still fun. The problem for me is that near the end of the game, you go from exploring things to a single click on an object that suddenly explains the whole story, who, and why, etc. And then you're just a few clicks from the end of the game. It felt so abrupt to me. But the rest of the game is really fun and interesting. The DLC is unfortunately 50 of the game's most frustrating puzzles smashed together, so I recommend just grabbing a walkthrough to see the additional story points and earn the achievements.
was decent fun 7/10
