Island Flight Simulator

This is a fun game, but it is plagued by several bugs and is lacking in features. [h1]What I Like[/h1] [list] [*][b]Easy to play[/b] - This is a good thing and a bad thing. It is a good thing because the controls are not overwhelming like DCS World and it is very forgiving if one were to make a mistake, which promotes the mellow feel to the game. [*][b]Fun arcade feel[/b] - This game is by no means a Flight Simulator, X-Plane, or DCS World, and it clearly plays like a casual game. I do enjoy the realistic flight simulation games, but it is nice to play a mellow flying game. [*][b]Relaxing atmosphere[/b] - Do you remember Microsoft Flight? If not, it was a based in Hawaii and had a relaxing atmosphere. This game has a similar feel, in that it is more tropical and worry free. [*][b]Walk around[/b] - You can actually get out of your plane and walk around the airfields in this game, which is a nice addition. It is not much, but it certainly alleviates the cramped feeling as if you can never leave the plane. [*][b]A lot of missions[/b] - The game has many missions, but they all have the same premise: go to this island, pick up a product, and deliver it to this island. This game spices it up with the ability to transport legal and illegal products; for the latter, you could risk getting caught by the police or getting cheated by the seller and not getting paid. [*][b]The fart sound[/b] - I seriously think that the player's character walks around naked (or maybe flies naked) because when you get in and out of the plane, there is a sound of a flight suit being zipped which sounds strangely like a fart. [/list] [h1]What I Do Not Like[/h1] [list] [*][b]Easy to play[/b] - This is a good thing and a bad thing. It is a bad thing because the game feels too easy when flying. For example, you can hit the runway pretty hard and not suffer the consequences. [*][b]Bugs[/b] - In the version that I am reviewing this game for, which is likely 1.0, there are many bugs. The bugs are not very game breaking (or at least I have not come across any), but they are noticeable and could be annoying to some players. [*][b]No joystick ability[/b] - When I first bought this game, I immediately took out my flight joystick (Logitech Extreme 3D Pro), but I was severly disappointed to find that there is only keyboard and mouse controls. You cannot use game controllers or flight joysticks in this version. I hope they add it later. [*][b]Lack of controls[/b] Similar to the first point, this game is too easy. There are very little controls, so do not expect to have flap adjustments, air drag compensation, or anything like that. There is a landing gear button, however. [/list] Overall, the game is certainly fun, but it has several bugs and lacks features. (No joystick support!) You can probably squeeze a good ten hours out of this game before shelving it, so it is somewhat justifiable at $20. I do admire the team's ambition in creating this game, and I wish them the best of luck in this game and their future titles. I love the first mention in the "special thanks" ;) Rating: 6.5/10

I figured out the controls by hitting all the keys on my keyboard. I took off. Island disappeared. I flew back. Island reappeared. I landed. No brakes. Clipped through hangar.. Hit a bush. Exploded. Exited to see how much I paid for the game.

Game is really trivial and boring. The flight simulation is child-like simplistic. The controls are rather annoying; yoke "self-centres" so to keep a steady descent, you have to continually move the mouse forward, i.e. keeping moving it forward, not just keep in a fixed position. Once you learn to fly, missions are to fly from one place to another and report in. Nothing of any interest. There is nothing risky about the missions, that I can see. Each one seems identical to the others. No complexity, nothing of interest. Even if free, the half hour of time to see how little there is to the game is a half hour of your life you won't get back.

Island Flight Simulator – не симулятор. Летаете с одного острова на другой, занимаясь доставкой, зарабатываете и прокачиваетесь. Процесс управления деревянный, просто вести самолёт значительно труднее, чем в каком-нибудь War Thunder. Графика так себе, звуки ужасны, музыка не ощущается. Мусор.

In my effort to continue playing through some of my SG wins, I decided to give this one a go. Island Flight Simulator is definitely not a great game. I actually don't think it was as bad as has been reported, inasmuch as it is visually pleasing anyway, but the gameplay is a bit janky and the planes difficult to control. This leads to unnecessary plane crashes and unfortunately, once you crash, you have to start over from the beginning. You get this in a bundle, try it out. Otherwise, I would pass on this one. Do you visualize Euro Truck SImulator? Well, this is what that game aims for. Except with arcade planes, and from island to island. So to "win" you'll have to fly above a badly textured sea from point A to point B in a straight line for about 5 to 10 minutes. Of course there's no actual physics, or rebindable keys or support for your joystick and pedals. Nope, all you need are the 4 directional keys and some whiskey. No resolution options either, of course. If pressing a key for 10 minutes and getting points for it is your jam, well i suppose that game is for you. Cyanide pills are also an option.

Feel a bit scammed on this one. No content whatsoever. No Career feel, lame plane upgrades, bugs and more. Stay away from this unless you like arcade feel and simple missions of pick up, fly to and deliver. Maybe worth 3$ because their are aps on my phone better then this.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is still much better. This is not really a flight simulator, none of the instruments actually show anything. There's just a speed/altitude indicator drawn in the corner of the screen. When you point the plane down, it doesn't speed up because it's already flying at it's max cruising speed... that's not how planes work. So this isn't a flight simulator, but it's also not arcade style flying, as without any controller or joystick entry it's more difficult to control than I expect an arcade game to be. It just didn't hit any fun buttons for me.

Ох, как же немцы любят вешать ярлык 'simulator' на всё подряд, видимо таким образом стараются не терять лидирующую роль в производстве "симуляторов" всего на свете. Я не удивлюсь, если в Германии существует симулятор того, как программист-разработчик ходит в офис делать какой-нибудь компьютерный симулятор. :D Island Flight Simulator конечно же никакой не симулятор, - это ничем не примечательная аркада про доставку грузов между островами. Имитация полёта тут сильно упрощена: приборы в кабине ничего не показывают, погодные условия не меняются, чайки не бьются о фюзеляж и не поджигают двигатели. :D Gameplay сводится к полёту из точки A в точку B. После прилёта на родной аэродром необходимо получить новое задание и снова лететь-кружить по кругу. [i]О каких 100 различных миссиях идёт речь в описании - загадка.[/i] По возвращении на базу важно не забывать заправляться топливом, чтобы в следующую миссию не рухнуть в океан. Для покупки нового самолёта потребуется прилично налетать. Полёт с острова на остров занимает 5-10 минут, а платят за это совсем не много. Чтобы заиметь все три машины, которые будут отличаться по сути только скоростью и размером топливного бака - потребуется примерно 75000$! Без конечной цели, развития событий, я не нашёл смысла на всё это добро копить и прописал в реестре n-ное количество денег, чтобы просто посмотреть на весь возможный к покупке контент. Честно сказать, я бы ничего не потерял, если бы после завершения туториала сразу прекратил играть. Игра без цели и сюжета. Нет npc, остров совсем не живой, от посадочной полосы нет возможности отойти чтобы прогуляться. Во всей игре отметил для себя лишь один скоротечный положительный момент - это момент подлёта к острову и захода на посадку; выглядит это более или менее красиво, несмотря на графику начала нулевых. Ключ мне достался бесплатно, казалось бы грех жаловаться, но даже для бесплатного опыта эта игра слишком уныла и очень скудна на контент. P. S. Обратил внимание, что в PS Store Island Flight Simulator стоит полторы тысячи рублей. [b]Полторы тысячи, Карл![/b] В странном мире мы живём.
