Reviews
Review after completing the campaign on the 2nd difficulty level. I may update it later. I would give this game a 7/10. First things first: this isn't Darkest Dungeon. This is 100% subjective obviously, but DD is one of my all-time favorites. Iratus is a very good game, but it isn't anything close to Darkest Dungeon. With this out of the way, Iratus does a lot of things right. - It rewards proper planning and good team compositions. - There's a lot of replayability with different team compositions and talents/artifacts combinations. - It's a challenging game: you can lose teams even on the 2nd difficulty level. What I didn't like: - It feels a bit over-bloated with different stuff to upgrade. This provides a lot of customization on your gameplay, but some buildings and talents are just there for the sake of it, not providing anything substantial to the game. - It has a a bit of a mobile game feel, both in the graphics and the different items/currencies to upgrade your team.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It certainly isn't a bad game, but since I can only give thumbs up or down - down it is. This game has to endure direct comparisons to Darkest Dungeon, and I can see the appeal many others see in how it provides a different approach. But for me, personally, it feels uninspired. In DD I was drawn in from the very beginning, the mystery of the house, the characters, the fighting mechanics. Here, in Iratus, there is no mystery, the characters are just substitutible, overall it feels like a reskin without much meaning not appealing to me at all. I can absolutely see why people would like this, but I decided after 30 min it's not for me to spend my time on since there is really nothing at stake that would interest me.
Its crazy that this game has 96% upvotes. I bought it years ago when it came out and played through everything on another account and now got it again on this one when it was on 90% sale. Pretty good deal for a solid game... BUT Aside from being solid and creative, its not actually that good. The core gameplay loop is extremely repetitive and out of my one playthrough i did on this account, i literally spent 90% of the time just clicking buttons. Not because its super easy but because the choices are super obvious and not very impactful. During combat you have your set build and clear order of moves. So can i recommend this game? When its on 90% sale and you can get it for 3€, yes, absolutely worth for some rounds. Full price? Neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
First time playing this genre, but I love strategy games in general (e.g. HoMM, etc.). It's a good game for being an indie title. Not great, just good. The visuals are actually quite nice, although there could be more and also better animation (even if this is the unique visual style of the game). The story is almost non-existent but the "bad guy" vibe makes up for it. It's fun experimenting with squad compositions. The game however gets repetitive quickly, no matter what comp you play, you will encounter the same difficulties. It's a shame that the unique mechanic of "sanity" (scaring the hell out of your enemies so the flee or die of heart attack) does nmot work in about 30% of the game including all bosses, so going for stress damage is basically a guaranteed defeat in the long run. Items and Artifact are also very unimaginative, mostly just "gives 10% damage" "receive 10% less damage" "gives more mana", etc. Nothing that actually interesting adds strategic value, just take a look at what your minions need then pick accordingly, no brainer. Or that's what you would do if the RNG would not screw you over and hand out completely random stuff you will never use - which really hurts in such a short game, where it really matter if on 1 out of 6 floors you get itmes 3 times and all of them are useless for your build. At least on the first 2 difficulties you can save scum to have some actual fun with comps. The enemies are also very repetitive, there is very little strategic depth, mostly just playing aournd with numbers and some very few synergies. As a first timer I really enjoyed this game, but it's only worth it for lower price as it is very short and even with all the minions it lacks replayability due to the above issues.

Coming from Darkest Dungeon, this scratches the itch that Darkest Dungeon 2 doesn't. Good game.
This games balancing is ducking trash. You shouldn't have to plan your whole 10 hour run around the fight at the end. Its the illusion of choice. Some people would say they like the game hard. That's why we have difficulty ratings. The difficulty is turned up to duck you and you whole family at lvl 2 of 5. What is that dev? You want me to prep before every new thing and sit on a wiki and make sure the fight is winnable with my team? You wanna save the unfair BS for I dunno, after normal difficulty? NO? I wish I could get my time and my money back. Your game is trash and I wont shy away from telling anyone who asks.
Pretty underrated turn-based strategy game. Frequently goes on sale and it's well worth the price. I initially got the game to see how competent the devs are considering they are making Heroes of Might and Magic Olden Era, but I actually got hooked on Iratus. Safe to say the Unfrozen know their turn-based stuff, looking forward to all their projects.
