Simple, yet difficult, repetetive but addictive as hell
I have been trying to review Intake for quite a while now. It wasn't easy, because each time I decided I won't be playing this game anymore, I started it up for "the last time". I did that like 10 or 15 times already. What is Intake? It's a game about dubstep drugs. Yup. That's it. Drugs. And Dubstep. How is that a good combo? Well, Intake is a very simple in design game. You have to destroy colored pills. There are two colors, but you can only use one at a time. Two button game. Quick and easy. The difficult part begins when game throws hoards of those pills at your face in a split second. Did I mention flashbangs? Oh yeah, Intake has them. Lots of them at times. Hit one and your combo (and screen, and sanity, and flow) are gone. Wait, wait... what combo? Well, the more pills you hit without missing, the higher your combo, the higher your combo, the better your score. Combos grant you really weird power-ups as well. Okay, okay, but is it a good game? Yes. Intake is phenomenal. It's nothing more than breaking pills, but oh boy, it's so satisfying. Dubstep in the background seem to be the best possible choice of music, tho I wish it wasn't just 5 tracks, that are unlockable throughout the game. A lot of flashing screens and challenging difficulty makes this game a Point and Click adventure from hell. Definitely worth the money Cipher Prime Studios ask for. Also, are you a CS:GO player? Well, that game helps you improve overall aim.
BE! AGGRESSIVE! B! E! AGGRESSIVE! Wow. This game definitely has a unique vibe going for it. It won't be for everyone, but there's something really satisfying about swapping colors and clicking on exploding pills. The audio is nice too, although the cheer from the song will likely get on some people's nerves. You can unlock new songs, but I'd rather use my in-game currency to unlock powerups and stuff instead. Eventually I'll find out if any of the other songs are good I guess, but in the meantime... BE! AGGRESSIVE! B! E! AGGRESSIVE!
This shmup type of subgenre is very cool. Loved the graphics, music and concept. Great arcade game
This is a cute game, and enjoyable for short bursts, but certainly not worth $10. If this game were closer to $5 then I would be far more open to recommending it, but there's just not enough here for that larger pricetag. The idea of the game is that you click on pills falling from the top of the screen, and you can also swap between two screen colors. If a pill of a color not aligned to the screen hits the bottom, it's game over. You also lose your combo if you click a pill not aligned with the screen color. As such, you can switch the screen color both offensively (to click on/destroy pills) and defensively (if a pill is about to hit the bottom, you're fine if you switch to that pill's color). Fun concept, but that's literally the entire depth of the game (aside from unlockable powerups). And that's why I'd recommend it at a lower price, or on sale. Also, the "cheer" part of the soundtrack gets old real fast. Personally, I might put on some of my own music when I play this again in the future.
Yes. This is where your gaming mouse shines (or maybe just the RGB LEDs).
Move over Dr Mario there's a new pill popping game in town. This is a twitch reflex shooter where you try to eliminate as many falling pills as possible in a very short amount of time. Needless to say things get hectic. And just because the game needs to be obscenely more difficult the pills also come in multiple colors. You need to shoot the right pills with the right color or else lose your combo. Hope you have a good gaming mouse and a sturdy wrist. Both will be tested. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2482450078
There's no way such a simple one-screen score attack game where enemies shaped like pills fall from the top of the screen and you click on them to destroy them can actually be this much fun right? Well, it's actually a bit more interesting than that, as enemies come in two colours (changing from level to level) while the player is allowed to swap between them at will. Match the colour of enemies as you click on them, and you can build combo for better score; match the colour of enemies that fall off screen and your shield will destroy them (thus you only lose lives if an enemy of the opposite colour ends up getting through) As you play you accumulate a currency you can use to unlock extra songs, buy upgrades, challenge modes and perhaps most importantly fun and powerful arcadey powerups which can then randomly spawn during play. This makes what would otherwise be minimalist gameplay become surprisingly varied instead, doubly so as challenge levels with various gimmicks are occasionally introduced into your run every 5 or so levels. While the theme is purposely goofy and the EDM soundtrack not to everyone's taste, Intake is very polished, paced and balanced just right, and ultimately way more fun than it has any right to be.

not sure if it's worth $9.99, but it's a good time killer and, despite pretty simple gameplay, it'll take time to get good at it
This is a very fun game to launch and try to beat your best level while downloading something else This would still be the case if my progress i've been SLOWLY building up over 7 years (unlocks etc.) wasn't randomly reset today for seemingly no reason at all. Progress was transferring between 3 different computers and made it onto this one, just randomly was reset today and I don't know why :c
