Reviews

Absolutely phenomenal, incredible return to a storied franchise after a long, long while. Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road is everything a Inazuma Eleven fan could have wished for, and then some! The game is chock full of content, a 60 hours (SIXTY HOURS!) story mode, filled to the brim with activities, zones to explore, character to meet, side quests to do, matches to play and of course what looks like hours of fully voiced anime sequences done by MAPPA themselves! In the story mode you are actually playing a Inazuma Eleven anime, you are IN the show, part of it. After a certain point, your own avatar can also join the Nagumohara football club and your avatar can partecipate even in the story matches, basically allowing you to star in Inazuma Eleven if you so desire. The story is classic Inazuma Eleven, a joy to watch, and to live. Without delving in spoilers, Inazuma Eleven Victory Road replaces Inazuma Eleven Go as the actual sequel of the Inazuma Eleven main series; but even if the GO series is basically made non canon, elements of GO still shows up in the story paying homage to their role in the saga. The long story introduces lots of new characters, reintroduces old ones and sets the stage for what I hope will soon be a full blown sequel to the Victory Road saga. The new main character is endearing, funny and relatable in his own way, Unmei Sasanami takes is rightful place among the other Inazuma Eleven protagonists with Mamoru Endo, Matsukaze Tenma and Asuto Inamori. I still have to scratch the surface, though, after finishing the 60 hours story, there's the whole Chronicle Mode to tackle which promises to relive all main matches across ALL the Inazuma Eleven saga and... I cannot wait! MINNA! SAKKA YAROUZE! Review Score: ∞/10
Fourteen years later, a new Inazuma Eleven game dropped and it woke up the entire Inazuma Eleven community throughout the world. The story mode shifted away from what we were used to in the franchise, and the possibility of playing all the matches from all the anime seasons is nice—even if the underlying plot linked with the Chronicle mode seems to be a rehash. The team-building system of the game is interesting and allows players to experiment with team compositions, passives, and players. But it's true that the online part of the game is quite bad at the moment: cheaters and trolls are pretty much the only players you can find in ranked right now. Add to that the fact that it is the community carrying the game... please Level-5, do not let this incredible game die!
