good and fun and nostalgic cus i used to play on the 3ds when i was a kid, but i wish there were more tp locals in the volcano :/

7/10 I'm currently grinding out the endgame to finish up some final achievements. Is this fun? 50 hours ago, yes. Now? It's something I want to complete and never come back to. The game lays out a solid foundation that the future games in the series have used to build something beautiful, but a foundation alone is not enough. The biggest issue for me is the AI being mostly random. When you only have a few options in combat and each feels like a coin flip, any pleasure from being strategic is lost. The positives for me still have me willing to finish this grind. The monster roster is huge. They all look really great too, accounting for the age of the game. The unique gene mechanic allowing you to pick and choose your monster's passives and active skills is a brilliant idea, held back, again, by the flip of coin due to gene slots being rigid once the monster is hatched. (Future games thankfully address this particular problem) The maps are large and gathering materials feels rewarding enough to actually do it. There are dozens of weapons and armor pieces to craft and level. I promise you there is a build out there you will enjoy. And lastly while I made negative comments before on the combat and its RNG, it still can deliver really satisfying battles when it's rarely done right. It's more than challenging enough. This is not a game where you'll come away having hoarded those mega potions for that "what if?" scenario. The biggest, most frustrating con for me was the story. It's not even that terrible on its own. There's some really interesting lore around the origins of riders and what separates them from hunters, and overall is pretty enjoyable. The issue with the story is that it's basically experienced through one of the most annoying characters I've experienced in gaming. Navirou has one redeeming quality, and its that he doesn't have very much end game dialogue. Every single moment of the game has him try to lighten the mood with his comedic relief. Nothing is ever too serious thanks to his incredible dedication to being the center of attention. There was a moment where I thought things were going to change about midway through the storyline, but I was a fool. He quickly shrugs off that responsibility and continues on with you, making sure the player never knows the concept of silence. I'm seeing red now. And hearing Navirou prepare to make a joke about it, so let's wrap this up... Overall, if you can manage to mostly ignore the little furballs mostly pointless, and squeaky, interruptions, the game tells a pretty decent story and offers dozens of hours of gameplay, including a pretty well established endgame for those who truly love grinding out some hard content for trophy completion. I look forward to the second one!
Honestly, i was having fun at first 5-10 hours, then it quickly turned into when does this end.. - Exploration is meaningless, when all you find is just crafting material which you find anywhere else. I was excited to catch a monster with new exploration ability but it ended up being really disappointing. - Combat is just rock, papers and scissors. There isnt any meaningful choices to which skill to use or items. You can do "combos" with weapons but again its just picking the correct button. And you have very limited control over what your monstie can do in combat, so they can choose wrong moves at wrong time and die. - All new monsters hatching lvl 1 is really annoying that you need to spend some time to catch them up with current levels. And there is monster fusion thing where its completely RNG and extremely grindy, where you have to pray that you get the gene you want and hope the slot for that is open. - Gear is just there for stat, it doesnt matter what u equip as long as its high lvl. Its not interesting, its not exciting to get new gear. - Story and characters are alright i guess, its a pretty generic story with friendships, bonds and save the world. - Also incredibly bad designed UI its so hard to check what weapon are you crafting and what these skills are doing, what skills, genes monstie have etc. And they never tell you statistically what the skills are doing, its just slightly higher, heavy, high etc. - Level designs are not fun, just boring plain corridors. There are some post game stuff but I only did main story and immediately uninstalled right after. As i have no interest in it anymore, and i dont think i will be playing the sequels. Still I respect capcom for trying out new stuff. Just not for me.

Bom, agora eu vou pro MH: Stories 2... Me desejem sorte.
its a fun break from the real MSH series, the only draw back to me is trying to find eggs that you need! In order to progress the game..
