Bad, frustrating, slow combat. If you want to spend hours grinding XP for permanent upgrades in a rougelite and still get bodied by rats, bats, and enemies that can attack three times as fast and actually use combos, then knock yourself out. Absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
i like murder, rage when die, come back for more, derpy game, scary monsters, fun 8$
A hidden gem, has depth to it, very punishing. End.

QUICK SUMMARY: The most apt review for this game I can give is it's very clearly the dev's first project. Made with love but flawed in the fundamental aspects of what makes a game fun. Such as: - Worldbuilding and lore are surprisingly deep, with a huge map to boot. But with a temperamental stamina bar slowing you down and a ticking clock of a hunger bar, its absolutely zero fun to navigate. - Both the enemy and weapon variety are very impressive, so there's a lot to uncover. But an extremely cumbersome stamina bar tied with a TEAR-JERKINGLY slow weapon swing speed means combat WAY too clunky to get any real joy out of. - There's a quite long list of items to keep your runs spiced up. But having to buy almost every single one in addition to descriptions of them being deliberately withheld until you pick them up enough times leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Plus both they and the weapon upgrades are extremely expensive, so it can lead to lacking on one front or the other. which wouldnt be an issue if the enemy health didnt increase at the rate it does, leading to you getting absolutely eclipsed under their inflated health pools as you hit them with pool noodles. I love the game and plan to keep playing it, but I just can't recommend anyone else pick it up.
this game is an epic roguelite

What a name. The game was hard but once I started to understand the mechanics and getting a good rng I started to steamroll HARD. I managed new game +3 and pretty much became a demigod only to get humbled by Song. The game has a ton of items, weapons, characters, spells, gods, and secrets, specially secrets. The vibe is really good and sets you up for the struggle ahead, the lore is interesting but its really vague and obscure and its not easily obtained. The combat seems simple at first but it takes time to master and it satisfying once you do. All in all the game was fun and I enjoyed the challenge. Also I liked what you did there with the god of violence. Had me really looking forward to that "encounter"
I thought it was pretty bad, not gonna lie. I spent an hour and only made 7 gems, you need 10 to even level up your character. And then I died 3 times back to back to stuff the game tells you nothing about, like walking into a random hallway and getting killed by a laser beam at the beginning section. or mass murdered by 12 different people in the beginning section. Now my 7 gems are gone. What's the point if you can't make progress, or you can, but it feels like pulling teeth. the controls are not great either. if you wanna play a roguelite, there are way better options available to you.
This game was made for me. Its a deliberate action roguelike with Souls inspired combat and tons of secrets to explore.
I wish I could enjoy this because the atmosphere and combat system are both highly appealing, and finding out mechanics by experimentation / the unlocking descriptions slowly is brilliant, but getting anything done / moving around is just so incredibly slow it overshadows everything else. While fighting the lost and the hungry I found myself spending about 5 times as much time running around to each enemy as fighting! Looting is similarly slow, and it just feels like it takes ages to do anything
