Well, what do I say about this game? This is a Horror Anthology with 7 stories to play through. You play them linearly, so if you want to unlock all the endings before moving onto the next game, you have to wait for the introduction sequence of the next game to finish before reloading your last save. This was only an issue when the introduction sequence of the next game was long. I'm unsure if there was a way to skip them, but I found myself getting frustrated at times. Slight spoilers below. The first Game is "Maria". This game is pretty straightforward to get through but was mostly uninteresting for me to play. It was a "the horrors of real life" kinda game and was more-so cutesy than scary. I still felt deeply for our main character and her struggles though. It was a good way to start the anthology, even if it wasn't my cup of tea. The second game was "Metamorphosis". It was a mostly linear game with a few branching ending choices. Watching the main character's internal struggles hurt a lot. The pixel-art close-up portraits of "Greta" were very well-done and invoked a sense of sadness and horror. The story was very clear and I enjoyed it. The third game was "Slime Swamp". A surprisingly funny game with some interesting lore set up in the background that our main character is too busy to notice. It was lighthearted with dark undertones that I found very interesting. The fourth game was "Is It Truly Satan?" The subtle horror portraits created made this game better. Without them, I think I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much. It gives some background on an overarching idea of creatures throughout the game's lore as well as on Cre'ne. I enjoyed this one despite its short nature. The fifth game was "Shut Your Eyes." I unfortunately got frustrated with this one. The story and background were interesting but I had a few gripes. The map is massive for seemingly no reason. I remember watching a YouTuber play this level and getting frustrated watching it. There is too much gong on in the map that is there for seemingly no reason except for a bit of world-building. There were a few NPC's to talk to that very lightly expand the lore of what's going on in the game, but even with that I am still unsure of what really happened in the end. I even entirely missed the "boss fight" by going the wrong way in the school. Maybe because of cultural differences I did not understand the endings. Overall I am saddened by these things because this story was my favorite. The pieces were built up but the confusion hurt my enjoyment. I think ultimately this one just wasn't for me, as much as I wanted to like it. I even explained the plot to a friend to try to make sense of it all. The sixth game was "Butterfly's Lament." A short but interesting game. I liked the implementation of the clock to make you feel panicked. One of the endings was very surprising to me. I'm glad the TV allowed you to skip time if you were done exploring before 20 minutes were up. I usually only used around 10 minutes for most playthroughs. The seventh game was "The Old Photograph." This one had a very distinct style to it, which made it stand out a lot. I was surprised by the ending. I was linear and a little slow, but the visuals were good when the panic/anxiety were shown. I am still unsure why the main character did what they did though. I assume it was from stress and not being themselves anymore, but it isn't very satisfying. I agree that it can be realistic though. I liked these games a lot in their own ways, and I'm glad I spent the time to finish this anthology after watching a video on it. I hope others who play this enjoy the experience. TLDR: A good anthology with a little bit of everything. Even with some frustrating mechanics, the stories told make it worth it.
Great game, with each story featuring its own art style and mechanics. If you like anthology series like Love, Death & Robots, you'll enjoy this one.
gifted review doesn't count but anyways I'm aware of poor wording choice in the gameplay dialogues, I'll get on it later once I have free time (as if what im doing everyday is considered busy smh) also why are you digging through old review bruh, go play the game already
Excellent Horror Anthology that is a bit too abrupt in moving from story to story
First off, the games presented here were really well done (and I loved the art and presentation on all of them) but I feel the abruptness of moving from one game to the next (as you play it naturally) is a bit too jarring. I would have much more preferred something that encapsulated the whole game, like old horror anthology movies of old where someone is telling 'ghost stories' as a vehicle to deliver the stories (usually with a unifying theme). Still, other than that, and some grammar issues (ESL stuff, mostly, and easily overlooked for the quality of the game itself) this is a rock solid anthology and I'm seriously debating buying a copy so my review will carry more weight (I was gifted a copy to stream it). That's how good this was. Try it out. You won't be disappointed.
รีวิวเกม In a Bit of Tales
I finished the game with 100% achievements and really enjoyed the stories the developers showcased. I found myself wanting to learn more about each one. The multiple endings, while others challenging to find, made the experience even more interesting. PROS -Compelling story with horror elements still present. -Great replay value with secret endings and achievements. CONS -English subtitles have grammar issues and some misspellings. -The special password at the end doesn’t seem to serve any purpose. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtZR5yL-Qa8&t=1336s
Really cool idea, it's like a series of short stories. Executed fairly well could be better but I still had fun. There's plenty of achievements to get tied to the different endings you can get from each story they are worth checking out and going back for I certainly will be doing so eventually. ชอบที่เกมมีการเล่าแต่ละเรื่องราวคนละแบบกัน เป็นเกมที่มีกิมมิคเยอะมาก อยากให้ทุกคนได้ลองมาเล่นกัน คุณภาพเกมเกินราคาไปมากจริง ๆ ----------------------- I love how the game tells each story in a unique way—it’s packed with so many cool gimmicks! I highly recommend everyone give it a try. The quality of this game is honestly way beyond its price point!
