Hard to recommend over 1946 for me personally. In exchange for pretty graphics there are fewer aircraft and locations, cumbersome menus, unique gamepad problems, and a much higher price. With a dedicated setup I can see myself playing this more (VR was great when I tried it), but for the way I play, 1946 is much easier to boot up.
Great game, but one strong comment against using VR; this game severely suffers in VR mode, not because of performance, and not because of VR motion sickness (I don't have this, I have 1000 hours in many VR games totaled) - this game WAS NOT meant to be played in VR, and that VR mode is added in as a second afterthought. It's a "VR" mode camera and you still need to play this with a joystick or mouse and keyboard. it's a 5.5/10 for me. not a bad game, it's that it's a flight sim and such games are not for me. Also somewhat similar to a certain MMO game that has tanks and planes but only the plane part when you're using "F4" third person mode.
sad that you need to pay extra to get more planes
This game is just broken. Why every option I touch requires game to be restarted?? Why there's no normal pre-defined setup for controller? I have to alt-tab TWO times in order for my keyboard to be detected ... Game also freezes right after mission start (after I press P) i tried to reduce graphics settings, etc , nothing helped. All the time you are seeing me "playing" was just messing with menu and trying to get this junk to run.
A game that gives the great feeling of flying. A nightmare to setup the buttons that many times dont work. Almost impossible to hit anything in VR.
