The best racing game I know

Quien compra este juego compra nostalgia, y da lo que se le pide, un juego simple pero divertido. Si lo jugaste hace 20 años podrás revivir aquellos años, y al ser un jueguiito de carreras sin muchas mecánicas y bastante sencillo, es muy rejugable.

Ich habe das Spiel in meiner Kindheit geliebt und ich war total begeistert, dass es nun auf Steam für moderne Computer verfügbar ist. Aber schon von der ersten Sekunde wurde ich enttäuscht.. Die Cheats funktionieren nicht mehr. Somit ist es nicht mehr möglich die Vogelperspektive auf die Rückenperspektive zu wechseln. Ich habe mich schon als Kind immer gewundert warum die Rückenperspektive keine offizielle Einstellung sondern ein Cheat ist denn eigentlich ist die Rückenperspektive nichts was man mit cheaten gleichsetzen kann. Jedenfalls ist es nun auch nicht mehr möglich sofort alle Strecken und Autos zu verwenden. Übrigens, bin ich eigentlich der einzige der es total unfair findet, dass man schon bereits bei der Pro Stufe es mit Vegas als Gegner zu tun bekommt, ihn aber selber zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch nicht als Auto auswählen kann? Immerhin ist Vegas das zweitstärkste Auto im Spiel und gegen den bist du doch mit allen anderen Autos die du an diesem Zeitpunkt zur Verfügung hast doch komplett machtlos weil seine Geschwindigkeit und sein Turbo übermächtig ist. Ich habe zumindest dank Vegas niemals die Pro Stufe in meiner Kindheit geschafft und habe deshalb auch immer mit Cheats alles sofort freigeschaltet. Da es in dieser Steam Version aber nicht mehr möglich ist zu cheaten und ich quasi bei der Pro Stufe in der Sackgasse bin kann ich von dieser Steam Version nur abraten.

If you enjoyed Micro Machines V3, then you may like this one. The game has 11 vehicles and 7 racing maps. 4 vehicles and 2 maps are unlockable. There are 4 different difficulties: novice, amateur, pro and mirror. You unlock them by playing championship mode. Every vehicles has a turbo speed function, which can be useful to get past your opponent. There are also other modes like single race, time trial and pursue mode. The game has also multiplayer mode. Splitscreen works, but not the network mode. I haven't figured out how to run it, or if it even works. The mode is marked grey for me. I grew up playing this game as kid, so I consider this a hidden gem. The game is pretty challenging and unforgiven if you try to unlock every car. Novice and amateur are doable, but once you reach pro and mirror in championship mode, you need to play more or less flawlessly in every race track. It doesn't make things easier when the AI opponent drives faster than you. I'm fine if I end 2nd place in Lost Ruins, Yodel Peaks and Tokyo Bullet, because those are the toughest maps to reach 1st place, in my opinion. There is a limit on how many time you can restart a race map. You need to at least reach 1st, 2nd or 3rd place, otherwise you won't progress in the next race map. I managed to unlock the last car for the 2nd time and I don't feel like doing that task ever again. Once you've done that, there isn't much to do afterwards. The game works ok, minus the exploding car bug, which is annyoing. But it seems to disappear if you turn off the Persp. Poly function in the gfx options. The game also tend to freeze in the middle of the race while playing the Cape Thor race map. The music works great in this version compared to the Windows version that I played years ago. Overall, I like this game. But I can't play this game for a longer period, as it kind of make me dizzy. Probably motion sickness. My favourite car will always be the Enforcer NYPD police car.

Adolescent, j’ai joué à ce titre dans les années 1990, alors appelé Fun Tracks, avec des menus entièrement en français (cette version propose 4 langues mais pas le français). Pour l’époque, c’était un excellent jeu dont je garde encore aujourd’hui un souvenir très positif. Mais parfois, mieux vaut préserver ces souvenirs plutôt que de les confronter à nos standards actuels, tant l’écart peut être brutal. En le relançant aujourd’hui, le constat est clair : le jeu a très mal vieilli. Le gameplay est rigide, la vue aérienne extrêmement tassée — qui permettait autrefois de contourner certaines limitations techniques — devient vite inconfortable, et les décors minimalistes trahissent les contraintes de l’époque. Les polygones sont grossiers, même si, en rétrogamer assumé, j’y trouve encore un certain charme. Malheureusement, le contenu reste limité, que ce soit en nombre de circuits ou en variété de défis. Le principal problème vient toutefois de la stabilité : le jeu plante régulièrement, sans doute en raison de bugs ou d’une émulation approximative. Chez moi, cela survient systématiquement lorsque la voiture explose, ce qui coupe la partie net en pleine course. Pour toutes ces raisons — et surtout à cause de ces crashs qui rendent l’expérience frustrante — je ne recommande pas l’achat.

초딩때 남들 다 리볼트 할때 나혼자 이거했었던 추억이 있는 겜인데 놀다가 올만에 고전겜 얘기나와서 생각나서 찾아보니 스팀에 있더라. 근데 막상 해보려 하니 한바퀴쯤 돌면 영원히 폭발하는 버그가 있어서 빡쳤는데 리플좀 둘러보니 해결법이 있었다 덕분에 내 추억은 살아남을수 있었다 도스 창 띄우고 해상도 조지고 이것저것 불편한 점은 많지만 그시절 겜이 돌아가주는것 만으로 추천할만 하다
