Better than some of the more recent reviews suggest. Icarus 1 is a walking simulator with some light puzzle/platforming elements. Very light. What it does achieve is absolutely nailing the atmosphere of boarding a derelict ship to find out what went wrong and why. There are a few negatives pointed out in the last reviews that I want to address. 1: Bugs. I encountered none in my playthrough. 2. The voice acting. The choices for the voice acting are explained as you discover the story. It isn't that one voice is badly done and the other isn't. 3. The darkness. Yes, levels are dark. Purposefully so. Frankly, that's what makes the atmosphere great. 4. The length. The five levels are short so that once you know what you are doing, you can run through them in a couple of minutes to pick up any achievements you may have missed. However playing through them the first time, they will take you a good while to explore. Now there are two negatives that people might find: 1. the puzzling is generally trying to find objects needed to progress in dark places. However the objects are never actually in the dark places and a thorough search will usually turn things up. Only once or twice was I left having to make extra careful searches. 2. The story leads you to believe that there may be a choice at the final of the game. There isn't one. You follow a predetermined story which doesn't have a fully rounded conclusion. Neither of these affected my enjoyment of the game. It's well worth a playthough if you like the premise.

This was a cool short fun puzzle type adventure to play... 7/10 for me great value for the price
This game plays like a demo title for a university project. The story is very strongly influenced games like Portal, and I see some shades of 2001 A Space Odyssey whether intentional or not. The dev obviously spent some money on the music, but not much else. The story is clunky, the level design is repetitive enough to make you feel like your inside a ship but laid out in such a way as to make nearly no sense. The controls are even clunkier, turning all of the jump puzzles into a tedious frustration and movement feels like your sliding around on ice (kinda reminds me of the classic Quake and Half-Life). The puzzles are super simple and there's no save system. Chapters are short, but it's still frustrating to misstep and die at the end of a chapter, only to have to go back and redo everything, (including collecting loot boxes) all over again. Several times I collected a loot box but didn't see the onscreen update that loot was collected, so I'm not sure if those boxes registered or not. The story doesn't really resolve. The player has no spoken dialogue, so there's no way to know how things ended up with David. It think it's inferred by the conversations in the game, but not certain. The whole thing is way short and can be finished in 3 hours or less.
This is a first person adventure/puzzle game where you wake up on an abandoned spaceship and must solve various interactive first person puzzles to unravel the mystery. It's a compelling concept for a video game but the implementation here is very poor. The visuals are mediocre, with low poly and in some case textureless assets being used. There's no graphics tweaking options so the game falls beneath minimum standard for PC. The game maps PC gaming peripherals (HOTAS, Pedals, Racing Wheels etc) as if they are console peasant childrens toy gamepads. This makes the player move constantly in one direction and makes the game completely unplayable. There's no way to turn this off. The developer would have picked this up with basic testing on PC. The poor delivery quality here renders this game impossible to recommend.
wow, this game is somethin, and something amazing at that even if the grafics were ok the story was also nice what i thoght was the best was the end it was extremely satisfying and hape we get more of these tiltles. overall 8/10 Would recommend
Visually pleasing but the game was clunky and could not hold my attention. Movement was frustrating. Did not complete...
Painfully primitive and bugged.
At the end of the day I feel like recommending it. It's short, not so difficult and provides that little sense of anxiety walking around the agonizing spaceship. Also it takes a bit of pixel hunting to find many active elements on the scene among the garbage of the shipwreck, which makes it fair enough. Even some boobytraps got me to chuckle while nodding. I still feel though it lacks a bit of care for details overall. Just that bit of love that raises it from being too minimalistic. Oh, and I even fell off the map/ship at some point. It was so random and from a dark corner that I was expecting to trigger an achievement for that (like 'Lost in Space'. C'mon dev, a missed chance there!!).
Short game about an abandoned spaceship, has nice features =) 7/10
