Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.43/day in the week to Jul 30 → 3.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

grate game
Hyper Light Drifter is an indie top-down 2D pixel art slash em up. The game offers compelling visuals and audio with its top tier art direction and sound design. The moment to moment gameplay is solving "puzzles", exploring, slashing through a wide variety of enemies and killing bosses for upgrades. The first thing that left an impression on me is how little the game holds your hand, and that is to say not at all. The game shows you a cryptic cinematic to introduce you to the game and then throw you into the deep end with a tiny tutorial explaining basic controls, you figure the rest out yourself. Where to go? figure it out. How do you upgrade stuff? figure it out. What is the story about? F.I.G.U.R.E I.T O.U.T! This is the kind of game you finish and wonder wtf did I just play, what was this all about? I happen to like those kinds of games so I enjoyed this. To me this game is a mix of the combat of Enter The Gungeon and the vibes of hollow knight (being lost in the world & having to figure ♥♥♥♥ out). I want to begin this review by praising the art direction of this game. I didn't expect to be mesmerized by pixel art vistas, but here we are. The game is broken up into 6 distinct areas, each with their own visual identity. One of the areas is full of pure white marble ruins and beautiful turquoise water with some sci-fi elements spliced in. Another is a snowy mountain reminiscent of Nepal & Bhutan (think far cry 4) but with a high-tech twist. I was impressed by the variety and quality of the landscapes. All of this keeps you guessing and looking forward to what the next area will be. Each area also has its own sound scape. The howling winds of the mountain region. The calming water & fauna sounds of the drowned marble ruins. Everything has such a nice crunchy, bassy, slashy sound effects, combine that with an amazing atmospheric sound track and you can't help but be immersed in the game. Lets talk combat. The quick summary is this, you have a sword and a gun, the gun is very powerful but has limited ammo and the sword has okay damage but you can slash as much as you want. For mobility you have a dash that lets you dodge attacks and reposition. To me the combat was a mixed bag. On one hand I really enjoyed how nice and chunky the guns and sword felt. But that chunkiness came at the price of fluidity. My biggest gripe with combat in this game is that when you connect a hit with your sword, you are stuck in the entire animation, which isn't the case if you miss. Further more your attacks barely stagger enemies, so you will land an attack, but the enemy will still continue theirs while you are stuck finishing the animation. This is even more noticeable if you try to dash after an attack that has connected. I find this breaks the flow of battle and makes for some irritating moments where it feels like you get punished for landing a hit on an enemy. The enemies in this game are fun for the most part and well varied. I found one or two very annoying but that was towards the end of the game, where they serve the function of a bigger challenge. You have your fonder who try to throw their bodies at you, the ranged enemies who shoot you with their guns, some smaller faster enemies who charge at you and others you can find out for yourself. What makes combat interesting is the combination of all these enemies and how you decided to clear them. After clearing all the enemies and reaching the end of a "level" you will fight a boss. I found the bosses a bit too easy in this game, but they were all fun and unique both gameplay wise and visually. They all had unique mechanics you could abuse, but after getting the shotgun I found that you can just use it to trivialize every fight by dealing an insane amount of damage. I don't have much to say on the story of this game, I barely understood any of it because of how cryptic everything was and how few and far between information is. Its like Dark Souls if you didn't have item descriptions. I don't mind a cryptic story, but I do have a major complaint about the way it is shown to you. When you finish a "level" the game shows you a cinematic, but instead of having different cinematics its the exact same one they show you at the beginning of the game. I would've liked if they were replaced by some extra lore of the place you just completed instead of making me rewatch the same cutscene 5 times. Overall I really enjoyed this game because I am a sucker for atmospheric and immersive games and I don't need a linear narrative to enjoy a game. I would rate this game a solid 8.5/10.
