i loved the 1, but this one... is one of the worst pieces of ♥♥♥♥ gameplays ever. It makes no sence, why did they make it so stressfull and like without any congruence at all. Fkin hate it. The first was amazing and really warmthfull, and amazing and really just wanted more of it. But what is this ♥♥♥♥???
this is a very good sequel to hylics so far! will update this review whenever i beat the game, but i wanted to get my thoughts out. the combat feels a lot more meaningful, which is one of my favorite improvements that this game has. it can be quite challenging, but also not too challenging. hylics 1 had a problem with unbalanced combat in your favor, which i think i do like it for what hylics 1 is, but for something more fleshed out like hylics 2, it needed better combat. the game's visuals look absolutely amazing! i still do prefer hylics 1 in that sense because that game genuinely felt so insane visually. hylics 2 does improve its visuals and readability, and i do think for the kind of game it is it works well, but i do miss how hylics 1 looked. i have two issues with the game so far, the first being that the world geometry can be hard to read sometimes, especially when zoomed out. i like zooming out so i can make sure i can see everything around me, but any kind of depth perception is either messy at best or absent at worst. i do feel like this comes from the fact that the visuals that hylics 2 has muddies out a bit of that depth perception, but also due to how weird the camera can be when zooming out. the other issue is the platforming section. i cannot really say much positives about it besides that it's a good idea. it's so hard to maneuver around the level design, with lots of curves, almost impossible jumps, and other odd quirks, as well as enemies coming out of nowhere at times. i think this is why the platforming section does have a difficulty picker, but having a "god mode" is just stupid and admits that the design of the platformer in this game is bad. at least it does exist so i can move on from it. to end this review off, i will say the 2 things i love a lot over hylics 1 is the story/writing, and ESPECIALLY the music. the music in hylics 1 worked in its favor quite a bit, fitting how much of a drug trip of a game it is, but hylics 2's music is just better without any doubt, and a lot of it is actually better than just weird atmospheric guitar music (which isn't bad by any means, but still). for the 4 hours i've played of it so far, i would heavily recommend playing this game, regardless if you've played hylics 1 or not (but i'd recommend that you do because it does have a tiiiiny bit of story that does help amplify hylics 2 just a bit more, and it's like 3 dollars USD for a short but great experience).

Theres just something about it
He turned the psychedelia down to 10 for this one, as opposed to the 11 the first game was at with the literal word salad, but that's honestly a good thing cuz there's a little more substance to it now. Not that this game makes much sense beyond generally, anyway, but inventing an inexplicable meaning from the absurdity is part of the fun. Otherwise, I liked the new mechanics, the soundtrack is cool, the qol improvements compared to the first were good, and combat was more fun.
I too wish to be a humble juice rancher...
DNF honestly just not my type of game.. im more than halfway through finishing it and i still kinda dont get what theyre saying half the time; the characters talk in a really surreal way, which i guess amplifies its surrealist design as well. cool art style but the gameplay isnt just for me. i did have fun at first but i eventually got bored of the gameplay
this game is my favorite the art is out of this world mason is my fav artist 2nd is junji ito but this games lore fandom and gameplay is such a new world to explore and is really a underated piece of media and needs to be shined on by the gaming community please buy this game to support mason hes great and this game is . join the community 😁😁😁😁
The best game with a current fluid of mixed media, smooth animations, good progression and lore, one of the best sequels that I have ever played. Fell in love with it, would brainwash myself to play this for the first time again. 10/10 !never give up Mason and Chuck!
since my last review i got 14 bones, 4 meat and 1 cupcake.
Haha I love to slap bugs for flesh
