Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.14/day in the week to Aug 26 → 16.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

One of my favorite games, and one I keep coming back to play, despite some of the things that can be frustrating, such as early game boarding boats locking your units in a fight you already won just because the AI "still has units in combat", even when they cant even touch your units. I love how replayable and diverse the game is. The different game speeds, difficulties, and map generation and size really change the way the game feels and plays. The combat system really scratches something inside my brain. Some may dislike it, but I feel like it is one of the things that makes Humankind special. I've seen some reviews complaining about the Neolithic Era being useless, but in my opinion anyone saying that doesn't really understand the game. I mean, sure, the 100-300 fame on era stars probably isn't going to win you the game, but the trait choices you get for each of them provide a substantial bonus that scale decently well into the later eras, and are worthwhile staying in the Neolithic era for a few extra turns to get. That, and also getting a ton of tribesmen through food pickups is an amazing way to get early population, and can give you quick access to the civics screen and the first two civics, which can really boost your influence (and possibly faith) per turn and help you expand territories and build religion early on. Speaking of, I love the civics page for so many reasons. For one, the Ideology Axis is interesting in that you have a tradeoff not only between the different ends which give good empire (or even unit) bonuses, but also a tradeoff between those bonuses and the extra stability on your cities from staying in the middle. I also love how you can cancel civics and realign both your Ideology axis and the benefits you get from each civic choice, which allows for your culture to adapt to your empire's needs. Also I like how having low stability in your empire makes enacting/canceling civics more expensive, as it just adds another layer of interest and intractability in each game you play. All of these things help from making culture in the game feel just like a purple tech tree, like how it does in the Civ games. Honestly the civics mechanics are probably my favorite part about the game. So many fun and interesting parts about this game to love. Highly recommend if you are into these sorts of games, 10/10
Despite the fact my overall review is positive, I must preface it with this - this game is fundamentally flawed. It's biggest problem stems from it's balancing, from the way it's core mechanics interact with each other. A lot of reviewers would mention district costs as a prime example, but really, it's a lot of things. Costs of things, the way things interact - it's just... wrong. Janky. Eras and techs progress too quickly, exploration and expansion lags behind, adding territories and building punishes you, overall a lot of times something happens with one mechanic which feels wrong and out of time for other mechanics. A lot of things just don't work together right, or work opposite of the way you want them too, a lot of costs scale unevenly... and so on and so forth. It feels like it needs a lot of rebalancing and repolishing and remaking, which are sadly never coming beyong mods. Why is my review positive then? Because the game is gorgeous, first and foremost. It's style is not realistic and not cartoonish, it's subtly stylized and creates this weird, wistful atmosphere along with writing and art. UI is a bit of a novelty to get used to, but after you do it's clean and simple and nice to interact with. And just like I said about the game's style and UI, the games gameplay (as far as it works) has similar properties - it's atmospheric and inviting (while it's not frustrating you with bad interactions), it's familiar but subtly creative, trying new things and elements, When it works, it feels smooth and rich and thoughtful. I just wish it was fixed to be like that all the time. It can be compared with a beautiful jigsaw puzzle, which is actually missing pieces and contains elements of several different puzzles and a bit of a slog to get through - but halfway through pieces of it show so much promise and style.
Fun game. Would ♥♥♥♥ over one specific nation over an entire game again.
Really enjoying this game at the moment and as someone who played both CIV6 and CIV7, I think Humankind is overall better. Allow me to explain. So compare to CIV6, I love the culture selection of Humankind far more then the character selection in CIV. For one I hated playing having only one special unit throughout the whole game, so for example if your character has a special unit for the ancient era, once you leave that era there is basically nothing visually unique about your faction. Meanwhile in Humankind you always have a special unit for that time. I also love some quality of life changes, like not having to move individual units around and can instead have an army. And yes IK CIV7 also has this, but I still believe HK does it better since you don't have to mess with the whole unpacking of units and can instead just have a battle, which I think it is far cooler, tho the borders of the battle can be quite wierd at moments. There are more positives I can say about HK, but will not list them all out, instead I will just mention 2 things that are kinda bad about HK, at least for me. For one the unit veterancy. I feel like levels were far better in CIV6, where anytime you unit leveled up, you could give it a unique new ability (like can heal outside friendly territory for naval units), meanwhile in HK the unit just kinda gets +1 attack and that is it not to mention, levels can be easily obtained by just building certain buildings so your units do not even need to earn it from battle. And another thing that is kinda annoying how all the city graphics update when you switch culture, except for the admin center because you need to do that manually. This is not a problem when you have only a few territories, but gets way to annoying to deal with in the late game and I just stop doing it. Anyway I will stop wasting your time, I still believe CIV6 is an amazing game, meanwhile CIV7 is honestly just meh. If you like the whole culture switch mechanic of CIV7, just play HK imo... but not for full price, I got this game on a 75% sale, would not pay 50 EUR for a 4X game.
better than civ 6
